Chapter one hundred and fifty eight:

Christy was standing in the kitchen wearing only a pair of panties and Isaac’s dress-shirt from the night before. By the time she had picked it up off the bedroom floor that morning, it had been wrinkled anyway, so she assumed it was safe to put on, at least until she had her shower.

“Hey, good morning!” Isaac said cheerily as he came into the kitchen, fresh from the shower and dressed for the day. “Just what I like to see, a beautiful woman and a fresh cup of coffee.” He swept her into a kiss.

“You’re happy this morning.” Christy smiled, passing him the mug of coffee.

“No kidding.” He chuckled. “After last night?”

Christy smiled. “I actually thought you’d be a little worn out.”

He shrugged. “Maybe a little.”

“I was going to cook breakfast, but we don’t have the facilities here.” She motioned to the tiny kitchen, which consisted only of a tiny mini-bar and a coffee maker.

“That’s okay. I’ll grab a muffin or something in the lobby.” He grasped her around the waist and pulled her into his lap.

She giggled, balancing on his knee.

“What are your plans for today?”

“Well, Jimmy the body-guard is joining us today, you said, so I thought maybe Becky, Jen and I might go to the mall, then we’ll be back in time for your sound check and to have dinner with you. And maybe we’ll catch the show.”

“Yeah? That would be great. I love having you in the audience.”

She laughed. “Why is that?”

He shrugged. “It’s just comforting to know that I’m dating the hottest girl in the audience.”

“Oh! That was such a line!” She got up from his lap. “I’m going to shower. Will you be here when I get out?”

“No, you’d better kiss me goodbye.”

Christy giggled. “I think you got plenty last night.”

Aww…” He faked a pout.

Christy crossed the room and kissed him deeply, catching him completely by surprise. She raked her hands through his still-wet hair, and finally released him, leaving him awestruck and breathless. “Think that’ll do you for the rest of the day?”

He swallowed, “I uh… well,” He cleared his throat. “Yeah.”

She smiled and walked towards the shower.

After Zac had left to meet his brothers, Becky grabbed her purse and left their room. She made sure the door locked behind her and crossed the hall, knocking on Jenna and Taylor’s door.

After a moment, the door opened and Jenna appeared. “Hey,”

“Hey, how was sharing a room with Taylor?” Becky asked, entering the room.

Jenna sighed. “He’s a boy. He lives like a pig.” She motioned to the small sitting room which was covered in clothes from Taylor’s suitcase.

Becky laughed. “I know, Zac’s the same way. Do you want me to help you clean up? I’m sure we have a while before Christy is ready…”

“No, that’s okay. I’m not picking up his shit.” Jenna found her own zip-up hoodie and shoved her arms through the sleeves.

“Are you guys getting along okay?”

“Yeah, I guess.” Jenna shrugged. “He’s being a bit of a pain in the ass, but…”

“But?”

“Well, he took me to see a movie last night, and insisted on paying for everything, and he insisted that we do everything I wanted to do. He even took me out for frozen yogurt after.”

“Yeah? It sounds like…”

“It sounds like what?” Jenna asked. She stopped fixing her hair when Becky didn’t finish her sentence.

“Sounds a little like a date.”

Jenna dropped her hands to her sides. “I know, I thought so too.”

“Did he say anything about it being a date? Did he give you any indication?”

“No… I don’t think so… he was sweeter than usual. Until the end, then he was just obnoxious.”

“About what?” Becky questioned, clearing a spot on the sofa.

“He’s worried about me, I don’t know.”

“Sounds like he has a crush on you.”

Jenna laughed. “I don’t think so.”

“It isn’t entirely possible that he’s being obnoxious because he likes you?” Becky inquired.

Jenna rolled her eyes. “This isn’t grade school. Besides, I’ve never had one guy pay any attention to me in my whole life, and when Luke came along I considered it a fluke, but Taylor Hanson? You’ve got to be kidding.”

“I’m just saying it’s possible…”

Jenna stared at herself in the mirror for a moment longer. “Come on, we’d better go before Christy pitches a fit.”
