Chapter fourteen:
Christy sat with Isaac in the living room of the guys
hotel room. They were watching a movie, which Christy found the most boring
movie EVER. She wasn't even sure what was going on in the film, because she
couldn't keep her mind on it. All she could think about was Isaac. They'd been
together almost a month, and they'd hardly done anything, physically. Just a bit of kissing and some touching. It was grade-school
stuff. But not what she wanted.
She was waiting for him to make a move of any kind. Alright fine,
Christy thought, If he won't make a move, I
will.
She turned his face towards hers and pressed her lips to his. Grabbing the
collar of his button down and pulling him down on top of her.
After a few minutes he broke the kiss. "Hey C. Come on, we're missing the
movie."
"I don't want to watch the movie..." She breathed.
"C... You know I can't do this..." He said, avoiding her kiss. He
wanted to. He wanted to kiss her more than anything, but couldn't.
"Why not?"
"I uhh... well..."
"That's not a good enough reason." She kissed him.
"Sure-sure it is. I uh..." He sighed and sat up. "I'm not
ready... I can't do it, n-not until I'm ready."
"When will you be ready?" She fixed tank top.
"I uh, I don't know."
Christy ran her hands through her hair and sat up, shuffling through her purse.
She pulled out a pack of cigarettes and put one between her lips.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
She took out her lighter, "killing some brain cells." She muttered.
She walked out on the balcony blowing out a puff of smoke.
Isaac followed her "C, honey. I'm sorry. I really am. But you don't
understand the pressures-"
Christy hugged her sweater around herself. "Pressures!
Don't talk about fucking pressures. Ok?" She pulled a plastic bag out of
her pocket and threw it at him. It landed in a heap at his feet. She added in a
lower tone "You don't know anything about pressures."
She stormed back into the room clicking the main door shut behind her.
Isaac was stunned. After a minute, he bent and picked up the bag, looking at
it.
It was Marijuana.
