Chapter one
hundred and thirty seven:
Zac found
himself standing in front of a full length mirror, jerking at the tie his
brother was making him wear.
Isaac had
offered to treat Zac and Taylor both to lunch, and Zac knew he should have been
suspicious; however, he went along for the free lunch.
Zac sighed
heavily and pulled out the nonsensical knots he had just made. He hated ties. They
were far too constricting.
“Hey,
Zac. What do you
think of the suits?” Isaac asked, appearing behind him.
“I don’t know…
their suits.” Zac shrugged. “Can’t I wear jeans?”
“Well, I don’t
have a problem with that, but I Think Christy would kill you.”
Zac rolled his
eyes. “Right. Better not chance it then.”
Isaac laughed.
“What the hell are you doing? Give me that.” He removed the tie from around
Zac’s neck and looped it around his own.
“You excited for
the tour?”
“Yeah, I think I
need to practice a bit though.”
“Yeah,
me too.” Isaac
chuckled, expertly finishing the last loop on the tie. He loosened it
considerably and passed it over to Zac.
“I’ll just be
glad to get the music out there, and just be on tour again.”
“Yeah, I’m
thinking the exact thing. I want to play live again… then of course I get to
marry the woman of my dreams.”
“Yeah, that’ll
be a fun couple of weeks.”
Isaac laughed. “Should be.”
“Just don’t make
us wear the first hideous suit we all tried on.”
“I’m with you on
that one. Actually, when Christy and I went through the suits on the stores’ website, this
is the one we agreed we both liked.”
“Alright, I can
live with this.” Zac shrugged. “Just for a couple of hours though, right?”
“Right.”
“And when I get
married, everyone is wearing jeans.”
Isaac laughed. “How
are things with Becky? After you told her you loved her?” Isaac watched him
tighten his tie.
“They’ve been
great… I’m crazy about her, you know?”
“Yeah, I know.”
Isaac chuckled.
“I mean, its so corny, but when I’m away from her, I miss her like
crazy.”
Isaac laughed, “Yeah,
love is like that… Come on, put your clothes back on, and we’ll go for lunch.”
“Alright. Where’s
“He’s trying to
find out if he can get a scarf that matches his suit.”
Zac laughed.

Christy was lying on the floor of the girl’s bedroom, flipping
through the latest issue of Cosmo.
”I was thinking we could go see a movie, tonight. You know?” Becky spoke
suddenly, to break the silence. “Just a girl’s night out.”
“Sure, I could go for that. It would be nice to get away from all
this frantic wedding planning. Isaac’s mom asked me about three times today if
I’m pregnant!”
Becky laughed. “Well, are you?”
“No, of course not! I guess it’s just because
we’re getting this wedding planned so quickly, in just a couple of months, you
know? But I honestly can’t see myself waiting a whole year or more before we
get married. It’s just too long to wait, you know?”
“Yeah, that makes total sense.” Becky agreed. “I don’t think I
would be a huge fan of a long engagement, either. It would be such a drag,
after the huge big deal of the proposal, and then having to wait forever for a
wedding would just be terrible.”
“Well, I’m glad you agree with me, but I’m afraid everyone else is
going to think this is a shotgun wedding, even if it’s not.”
Becky laughed. “But you know, that’s the
important thing, right.”
“Okay, wait a minute, wait a minute.” Jen interrupted the
conversation. “Are we sure that Isaac, Taylor and Zac are going to let us go to
the movies tonight? Alone? Or are they going to make
us stay in.”
Becky and Christy exchanged expressions, and Christy closed her
magazine. “I’ll look into it. I’m sure I can manage to persuade Isaac into
letting us out.”
“Oh yeah? How are you going to do that?”
Jenna asked, condescendingly.
Christy hoisted herself up from the floor. “I have my ways.”
“Well, maybe I can talk to Zac… He might help. If I talk to him,
maybe Zac could talk to Ike.”
“It’s worth a shot.” Christy shrugged.
