Chapter one hundred and twenty-seven:

Becky was standing at the counter in the kitchen adding slices of fruit into a blender.

She thought that since Christy would probably be in a hurry, she would attempt to make a breakfast smoothie.

She pushed the top on the blender and held it down with one hand and pressed the button with the other.

When the entire thing had blended into a mess of pink liquid, she poured it into a cup and pushed a straw into it. It was a little thick.

“Hey! Becka!” Zac beamed, coming into the kitchen. “I went to your room and you weren’t there… What’s that?” He noticed her drink.

“I made a non-fat smoothie. Want to try?” She held up her glass.

Zac shrugged and took a long drink from the straw, lowered the glass and made a face.

“Good?” She asked hopefully.

“No.” He said slowly. “It’s not…”

“It’s healthy.”

“Maybe that’s why.” He handed the glass back to her. “Your first time making that?”

She nodded.

“You might want to add some sugar… maybe… ten bags?”

Becky laughed. “Then it wouldn’t be healthy…. Anyway, it was just thought it would be nice for a change.”

Zac made another face. “I think I’ll stick with cereal.”

Becky giggled. “It can’t be that bad.”

“Try it.” He urged.

She eyed him suspiciously, then took a small sip from the same straw. Becky held the thick liquid in her mouth for a moment, then swallowed.

She sighed and dumped the drink in the sink. “You’re right, it’s awful.”

He laughed. “Come on, I’ll help you clean up. Then we can go out for breakfast. My treat.”

“Oh, but I’m supposed to go with Jenna and Christy today. We’re going to look at bridesmaids dresses.”

“I thought she was designing her own…” Zac began, turning on the water to rinse out the blender.

“No, just the wedding dress. We’re going to get an idea of what she wants before she buys it in Tulsa.”

“Oh… sounds fun…”

Becky smiled. “I think so. I’m excited.”

“Yeah?”

“I love weddings, they’re so romantic… the flowers and the fancy clothes…”
”The food?”

Becky giggled. “One track mind?”

His arms circled her waist. “You got that right.”

She laughed and turned her head, as he lowered his lips to kiss her jaw.

Isaac jogged down the stairs after his shower.
He helped himself to a stale pot of coffee and added extra cream to it to chase away the aftertaste.
He lifted the mug and carried it into the main living room where Zac was bent over the television, hooking up his Play Station.

“Hey, man, what are you doing?” Isaac asked, easing himself into an arm chair.

“I’m going to play the new game I bought the other day. Want to play or will wifey not let you?” Zac teased, straightening himself and easing the television back into place.

Isaac laughed. “I’ll play, but be prepared to have your ass kicked.”

“Yeah, right. You’re out of shape, old man!” Zac taunted.

The door opened and Taylor came into the house.

“Hey, Tay. I just tried calling you. What have you been up to?” Isaac questioned, taking the controller Zac was handing him.

“I just came home to shower, then I’m going back to the studio. I’m trying to do a bit more work while we still technically have the studio.”

Ahh… good plan. Listen, on your way, can you do me a favor?” Isaac asked.

Taylor shrugged. “Maybe.”

“If I call Jim and find out where the girls are, will you do a Starbucks run and bring the girls something? I’ll give you the cash.” Isaac reached for his wallet.
”I guess.” Taylor said, taking the neatly folded bill from his brother. “Why can’t you do it?”

“I’m not supposed to see the dress, remember?”

“They’re just bridesmaids dresses…” Zac shrugged.

“Yeah, I know. But I don’t want bad luck.”

Taylor shrugged again and stuffed the money into the front pocket of his jeans. “Yeah, I’ll do it, but you’re buying me a coffee too.”

“No problem.” Isaac laughed.

“So have you picked out your tux yet?” Zac asked, flopping down on the sofa and putting a bowl of chips in his lap, despite the fact that it wasn’t even noon yet; far too early for chips.
”No… I’ve made a couple of suggestions to Christy about it though, I’m not sure if she’ll use them.” He chuckled. “She did let me help pick out the flowers. We’re going with red roses.”
