Chapter one
hundred and ten:
Zac walked down
the hall towards Isaac and Christy’s room.
He found the
door open and Isaac sitting on the edge of the bed, alone in the room, with an
acoustic guitar on one knee and a notebook on the other.
“Ike? Are
you busy?” Zac asked, shoving his hands deep into the pockets of his
jeans.
Isaac cleared
his throat. “Well, that depends, what do you want?”
“Advice?”
Zac asked.
“Have a
seat.” Isaac motioned to the chair across from him.
Zac sighed and
heavily dropped into the chair.
“What kind
of advice. Girl problems?”
“Well, not
really a problem or anything…”
“Alright,
than what is it?” Isaac raised his eyebrows. “I don’t know
how much help I’m going to be.”
“You have
more experience than I do, that’s a good start.”
“Experience
with what?” Isaac chuckled.
Zac drew in a
deep breath. “I’ve been with Becky a long time… and I…
I love her. I know we’re young, but we’ve been dating since we were
like fifteen!”
“You think
you love her?”
“No.
I’m sure I love her.”
“Ahh…” Isaac nodded. “That’s
good.”
“I
just… I want to tell her, but how do I do that without freaking her
out?”
”Hmm… that’s a tough one.” Isaac observed.
“Yeah, no
kidding.” Zac nodded. “I mean, I’m so certain that I love
her, I just… I don’t know if she feels the same or-“
“Zac,
I’m pretty sure she feels the same. Have you seen the way she looks at
you? She’s crazy about you.”
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay,
then how do I tell her?”
“Well…
When I told Christy that I love her, I just looked at her and it came out. I
mean, I knew almost the moment I laid eyes on her that I loved her.”
“You
didn’t worry it was too soon?” Zac asked.
“Yeah, I
did. I worried it was going way too fast, and I worried that I would scare her
off. I guess… I guess she just felt the same.”
Zac groaned.
“This sucks. Three little words and I can’t say them.”
“Sure you
can. You just have to pick the right moment.”
”Any suggestions?”
“Hmm….
Maybe take her out for a fancy dinner? Something really romantic… I know
a great place, do you want me to make you some reservations?”
“That
would be awesome. Thanks man.” Zac stood.
“When?
Tonight? Tomorrow night?”
“Tonight,
if possible.”
“Sure. I
think I can pull some strings.”
“Thanks
man.”
“Anytime.
What are big brothers’ for?”
Zac laughed. “Alright, just don’t get all Brady Bunch on me,
dude.”
