Chapter one hundred and two:
Taylor was boredly wandering through the crowd of friends and strangers who had come to his party.
What had begun as a small gathering of fifty or so friends soon turned into a much larger house party, as usual.

He hadn’t protested, he thought the addition of more people, particularly more women, would help him feel better.
However, even the opportunity to get laid didn’t change his mood.

He wandered towards the kitchen to get himself another beer just as Jenna was coming out, stopping long enough to drain her bottle of vodka which he had given her earlier.
She swayed slightly and he knew instantly she was intoxicated.
”Hey, Jen. Where’s Luke?” He asked immediately.

“I don’t know, I just came down here to party.” She shrugged.

“Okay, are you having fun then?”

“I want to dance!” She shouted over the music, ignoring his question. “Will you dance with me, Tay?”
”Okay, but first you should talk to me, okay?” He turned her around to face him. He wondered how she could stand, let alone dance. “How much have you had to drink tonight?”

“Just this!” She handed him the empty. “And a couple of beers.”

“Uh-huh… And what have you had to eat today?”
She pushed him away, and stumbled past him, blatantly ignoring the question.

Taylor sighed and removed his cell phone from his front pocket, dialing Luke’s number through his contact’s list.
After two rings, Luke picked up. “Hello?”

“Luke? Where are you?” He shouted to be heard over the loud music.

“I’m at the house. Upstairs, where the hell are you?”

“I’m downstairs. Look, you’ve got to come down here and get Jen.”

“Jen? I thought she went down to make some tea…”

“Yeah, well, you’d better get down here.”

“Alright…” Luke’s phone clicked off and Taylor shoved his own phone into his pocket. He turned in a complete circle, but Jenna was gone.

He found her in the kitchen, helping herself to a shot someone was pouring out.

“Hey! Hey!” He said quickly, taking the shot glass away.

Tay, what are you doing? Lighten up!” Jen laughed.

“What am I doing? What are you doing? You’re smashed!” He cried.
”I’m just partying
Tay!” She shrugged.

“Okay,” He sighed. “How about we find Luke?”

“Will he dance with me?” She asked.

“Yeah, he said he wants to dance with you.” He looped an arm around her waist, to ensure that he didn’t loose her again.
He practically dragged her to the staircase, meeting Luke at the bottom.
”Luke!” Jenna cried, drunkenly reaching for him.
”Jen! Hey—whoa! You’re drunk!” He caught her as she fell towards him.
”No, I’m not drunk! I’m just a little buzzed. I’m trying to be free!”

Luke narrowed his eyes at Taylor, who was still holding the back of her shirt to keep her steady. “Damn it, Tay. What the hell did you give her?”

“I only gave her a bottle of vodka, a small one, and she did this to herself! Don’t blame me!” Taylor was suddenly furious.

“You still gave it to her!” Luke shouted back.

“She’s the one who drank it! I didn’t force her! And besides, maybe if you paid a little more attention to her, you’d know why she’s doing this in the first place!” Taylor shot back.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean?” Luke demanded.

“You guys are so negative, all the fucking time!” Jenna laughed, shouting to match their tones. “I’m going upstairs!” She turned and attempted to stumble up the stairs.

“It means-Taylor continued, but lowered his voice for a moment. “It means that you need to talk to her, okay? She hasn’t eaten anything other than yogurt in two weeks. She’s on some kind of a crazy diet… she’s starving. That’s why she got so drunk, there’s nothing in her stomach to soak up the alcohol. Look at her, Luke. She’s skin and bones…”

Luke sighed heavily. “I’ll talk to her.” He replied, and marched up the stairs behind her.
