Freshman Composition Preparation: A writing course held in a computer-
mediated classroom designed to strengthen students’ clarity, grammar,
punctuation, and computer skills in preparation for further English course
work.

Field Experience – Survey III English, Holick High School, Racine, WI
Presented a lesson on a portion of The Ramayama in which the students
addressed difficult passages and directed questions to other students for
answers.

Field Experience – Exceptional Education English Classroom, Holick High
School, Racine, WI
Worked with Exceptional Education teacher in both inclusion and pullout
classrooms, eventually interviewing one student and performing a mock
evaluation to be compared with student’s caseworker’s IEP.

Field Experience – McKinley Middle School, Kenosha, WI
Presented lessons from Holes, by Louis Sachar in which students identified
with specific characters from the story to people they know in their lives,
and later wrote letters from the viewpoint of one character from the story.

Field Experience – Robert Bray, Community Center, Racine, WI
A project designed to teach young people to organize and operate sound,
light and camera equipment for talent show rehearsals, try-outs and
productions. Also, computer technology was explored for creating videos,
music and advertisements.

Spring 2000 Field Experience – Pleasant Prairie Elementary School,
Kenosha, WI
Classroom observations and assistance, as well as student interviews
studying Piaget’s theories of cognitive development.
