PART 2H
[Karen and Rob walk in followed by all of
their kids]
ROBBIE: Where's Avie?
ISAAC: Why?
ROBBIE: Cause I'm gonna kill her
ZAC: Oh--okay, she's upstairs
JOEY: I'm gonna go play with Mackie
KAREN: Okay, hun. [yells]
Robbie, don't get blood on the carpet. Hi [shakes Chris's hand] I'm
Karen. [to boys] I need to talk to your [Diana walks in living room]
Diana!
ZAC: Our Diana?
KAREN: We need to talk.
DIANA: Okay
ROB: Where's Walker
DIANA: Basement [parents leave
room]
DELIA: Hi, Mr.--uh
CHRIS: Sabec
DELIA: Mr. Sabec, I'm Delia
[Rachel hands Ember to Zac]
RACHEL: And I'm [gazes down to tabloid]
looking like a sheepdog! Who, took this picture
CHRIS: I'm guessing that you're Rachel
RACHEL: [nods. voice distant]
Yeah. . .I'm ugly
TAYLOR: Rachel
RACHEL: [shoves paper in his face]
Look at me.
ZAC: Rae, its a bad picture
RACHEL: Now the entire world sees
me as ugly
TAYLOR: I don't
ZAC: Me either
DELIA: I do
ZAC, TAYLOR, ISAAC, RACHEL: Delia!
DELIA: Joking
RACHEL: This is not a joking matter
DELIA: Sorry
RACHEL: This is depressing. Oh--Mr.
Sabec, hi. Sorry for acting so shallow.
CHRIS: That's all right.
ZAC: I understand.
TAYLOR: Yeah, me too
RACHEL: Aww, Zac, you're so sweet.
Now give me my baby.
ZAC: [hands Ember to Rachel] Who's
baby?
RACHEL: Our baby.
CHRIS: So this is Ember
ZAC: Yeah
RACHEL: Ya wanna hold her?
CHRIS: No, that's okay
ZAC: C'mon, Chris. Hold her.
[takes Ember from Rachel and hands her to Chris] Isn't she cute?
CHRIS: She looks like you.
RACHEL: Poor baby
ZAC: I heard that [Rachel smiles.]
[Zac shakes his head] You're funny, Rae.
RACHEL: Thanks, I think
ZAC: You're welcome, I think.
[Diana and Karen walk back into the living room]
DIANA: I can't believe that you're
leaving.
KAREN: I know. But Rob and I
wanted to get Rachel away from here. You know what I mean. I'm in
no way suggesting that its because of bad influence from your boys.
DIANA: Oh--I know. Rachel made
a mistake and its just way too hard for her to restart here. Pennsylvania
will be very good for her. It will give her a chance to start somewhere
where no one knows who she is
KAREN: Or her history with the boys.
DIANA: What do you mean?
KAREN: Well, you know even better
than I do, that your boys have their share of people who dislike them.
DIANA: Ah--yes. And then people
here know about their friendship with Rachel and they think--'Hey, Hanson
are losers, Rachel must be a loser.'
RACHEL: Exactly
TAYLOR: Do people treat you badly
because of us?
RACHEL: Um, actually, yeah. They do
ZAC: What od you do about it
RACHEL: Nothing. If they don't
like me just because you're my friends, then I don't want them to be my
friends.
ISAAC: Do they do that to you too,
Delia
DELIA: Yeah, but I handle it the way
that Rachel does.
TAYLOR: Does it ever make you wish
that you weren't our friends.
DELIA: Taylor--how could you even think
that?
RACHEL: Nothing could ever make me
with that you weren't my friend.
ZAC: Does that go for all of us?
DELIA: Yes, all of you
CHRIS: That's so sweet
DIANA: It actually is sweet
RACHEL: [smiles] We'll always
be friends--trust me. You won't get rid of me that easily.
I always want you three as friends. I don't care what people think
of you. I love you all.
DELIA: Yeah--we'll be friends for
life
ISAAC: [puts his arms around Delia]
Is that a promise [Delia nods]
DELIA: [whispers] I love you
ISAAC: [whispers] I love you,
too. I'm going to miss you
DELIA: I'm gonna miss you, too
ZAC: This is the part where we share
the coke.
RACHEL: Zac. . .
ZAC: What? I like that commercial.
RACHEL: Wasn't funny
ZAC: Well, I'm just trying to hide
how upset I am.
KAREN: We'll make sure that you have
our new address and phone number [Walker and Rob walk in]
WALKER: When are you moving
ROB: Between May and June. Probably
June--we'll let them finish out the school year here.
DIANA: Karen, I'll miss you.
You're my best friend.
KAREN: You're mine, too.
DIANA: Its not like touring with the
boys. If I come home, you won't be here. Its going to be terrible.
KAREN: Well, when you perform near
Lebanon, you'll have to stay with us. I will not allow a Hanson to stay
in a hotel when you're so nearby.
WALKER: I'm sure we're all looking
forward to it, aren't we, Zachary?
ZAC: Da-ad. Not funny.
Not funny at all.
TAYLOR: Yeah, really, Dad.
RACHEL: Well, I'm looking forward
to it, but that's because I'm going to go crazy without you all.
I don't know what I'm gonna do.
ZAC: You're going to make new friends
completely forget about us.
RACHEL: Never happen--I have Ember
to remind me
ZAC: [smiles] My little baby
girl
TAYLOR: Good--cause I don't want you
to forget me. You've all been like a second family to me. You
treat me like I belong and that's meant the world to me.
KAREN: Taylor--we love you like a
son. We love all of you kids as if you were our own children.
I'm gonna miss all of you.
DIANA: We're all like family.
ZAC: Hey, between me and Rae, Tay
and Rae, and Isaac and Delia, I won't be surprised if we are one day.
DIANA: Me either
CHRIS: Yeah--wait. . .Tay and Rae?
KAREN: Yes, I picked up on that as
well
TAYLOR: Loooong story. Maybe we'll
tell it to you sometime
DIANA: I'll fill you in later.
WALKER: You better
ROB: Yeah, I want to know what's going
on
DIANA: Of course--don't worry.
I'll tell you.
KAREN: Well, we better be going home.
[hugs Diana]
ROB: [calls] Robbie! Joey!
We're going!
JOEY: [calls down] Okay!
RACHEL: Bye [hugs Isaac, Taylor, Zac,
Diana and Walker]
DELIA: Yeah--see ya [hugs Isaac,
Taylor, Zac, Diana, and Walker]
ROBBIE: Bye bye
DIANA: Bye Robbie. Bye Joey
JOEY: Byes
CHRIS: I should be going as well
[gets up] Goodbye [Chris Sabec and Heverlings leave]
[Rachel is in her room with Morgan and Tori]
TORI: Rae--I'm sorry. I was
so angry with you. I got out of hand.
RACHEL: Its okay--it never should
have happened in the first place.
TORI: But it did. Rachel, I
want us to always be friends.
MORGAN: We need Delia. . .she's our
friend, too
DELIA: [pokes head in door]
Someone say my name?
MORGAN: Me. I did. Tori
was saying that she wanted to be friends forever. And you're our
friend too, so we needed you.
DELIA: Well, the four of us will be
friends forever.
RACHEL: Now I feel like I'm in that
movie "Now and Then". Guys, I'm gonna miss you. Group hug.
[They all hug]
MORGAN: I'll miss you, too
DELIA: Our little group has been ripped
into thirds. Me and Rachel in PA, you two here, Hansons touring--its
so sad.
TORI: We'll get to see them on tour.
DELIA: Yeah--for a night. One
night with Isaac. I'll have to make it a good memory to keep me going
through the hard times. I'm really going to be lost without him.
Sure, he's left before, but it wasn't too bad. he would visit--and
then we'd have our little bonding times together. Now, I won't have
those little times where he comes home and we just spend all of our time
together. He'll be here, in Tulsa. I'll be in Lebanon. This
sucks.
RACHEL: I know--poor Ember won't have
her daddy. She knows Zac. She recognizes him. She calls
him da da da da da. He's going to miss her first step.
TORI: School will be over soon.
MORGAN: 3 weeks. You tell us
that you're leaving back in March and I'm still not ready to say goodbye.
TORI: Me either. I'm still apologizing
for flipping out.
RACHEL: Our house in Pennsylvania
is really nice. You have our new address, right?
TORI, MORGAN: Yeah
DELIA: Good. You had better
write to us
TORI: Of course we will
MORGAN: Yup. . .all the time
DELIA: We have to start packing soon.
RACHEL: That is going to depress me.
DELIA: Yeah--me too. Leaving this house.
. .so much has happened here.
RACHEL: Oh, I know. I'm gonna
be terrible when its time to go.
DELIA: Mom has all these boxes in
my room. The depress me.
TORI: Its just not gonna be the same
without you.
MORGAN: yeah [knock at door]
KAREN: Its Mom, can I come in?
RACHEL: Sure [Karen enters]
What's up?
KAREN: More boxes [drops a pile
of them on the ground] Start packing
DELIA: But we're leaving in three
weeks
KAREN: No we aren't
RACHEL: We aren't?
KAREN: Nope. You are taking
your finals this week and we're leaving Friday. Your father has gotten
job there as you know and they need him to start sooner than expected.
Now [drops a box in front of Rachel] Pack. You, too,
Delia. There are boxes in your room. Oh--and Rae, you'll be
in school Monday and Tuesday to finish up, Wednesday and Thursday we'll
finish packing and we leave Friday morning.
RACHEL: Okay--guess I ought to start
studying
MORGAN: Yeah, probably. But
you're a genius so it might not matter.
RACHEL: Yeah--I'm a prodigee [smiles]
[pulls a box out from under her bed. Sifts through it] Oh--look.
TORI: What is it?
RACHEL: [holds up a picture]
Remember this?
MORGAN: Yeah, I do. That was
the birthday party for you and Tay.
RACHEL: I always hated sharing a birthday
party with him just because our birthdays were two weeks apart. I
turned 7 that year.
TORI: I guess we better let you guys
pack.
MORGAN: Yeah--bye.
DELIA, RACHEL: Bye
DELIA: Guess we better go pack.
RACHEL: I guess so. See ya,
Delia.
DELIA: Bye, Rae. [leaves room]
[Rachel packs stuff. Goes to next
scene] [Hansons, Beshores, Gettels and Marshalls all at Heverlings.
They are packing up the moving van on Friday morning]
KAREN: Well, I guess this is it.
DIANA: Yeah [they hug]
DAN: Rachel, I'll miss you. Thanks
for actually giving me a chance when no one else would.
RACHEL: I wouldn't ever give it up.
I'm sorry that it didn't work out.
DAN: Me too. I guess that this is
goodbye.
RACHEL: Yeah--bye Dan.
DAN: Goodbye Rachel.
DELIA: [hugging Isaac] I don't
want to let you go. I love you so much. Please don't forget
me.
ISAAC: Delia, you're the best thing
in my life. If it was you or my music, I would pick you. I could
never forget you, even if I tried. You just better not fall for any
guys in Pennsylvania. I don't know what I would do. Maybe kill
him--who knows.
DELIA: Don't forget to call me.
ISAAC: You know I will.
ZAC: Bye, Ember. . .Rachel, you take
care of our baby now, ya hear?
RACHEL: Yes--I hear. Take care
of our baby or you kill me.
ZAC: Maybe not kill, but close enough.
[Rachel kisses Zac.] Bye, Rae.
RACHEL: Bye
WALKER: I guess the kids are all taking
this pretty badly.
ROB: Yeah--they don't want to say
goodbye.
KEN: This would make a real good movie.
MARCK: You're so sympathetic, Ken.
KEN: Well it would. The boys
could play themselves. Of course, we would have to change it a little
to make it fictional. Rachel could be a drug addict instead of a
whore. Morgan could--
ROB: You did not just call my daughter
a whore.
MARCK: [to Walker and Devon]
Ken said the "w" word.
DEVON: The horror!
ROB: You just called Rachel a whore.
WALKER: He shouldn't have done that.
KEN: But, she is.
ROB: This is an outrage!
KEN: What?
JULIE: Now boys, that's enough.
DIANA: Go to your rooms and think
about what you've done. And furthermore--you're grounded for the
rest of your lives.
WALKER: Funny, dear.
KAREN: Come on, Rob. We better
go if we want to catch our flight. The taxis are waiting.
Bye Diana, Bonnie, Julie, Sharon [all hug] Lets go
[Robbie, Joey and Rob get into 1 taxi.
Rachel, Karen and Delia get into the other] [drive away.]
MORGAN: There they go.
TORI: Come on, Morgan. Lets
go do something.
MORGAN: Movie?
TORI: Sure. Is that okay.
JULIE, DEVON: Okay with us
MARCK, SHARON: Us too
MORGAN: Thank you, Mommy. Buh bye.
SHARON: Bye
KEN: Come on, family, lets go home.
I have a movie to write.
DIANA: Come on, boys--lets go catch
our plane. We have a concert in Fort Lauderdale tomorrow night.
ISAAC: Really?
DIANA: Yep--lets go. You all
better be packed?
ZAC: Yeah, we are.
AVERY: C'mon--we're gonna miss our
flight.
DIANA: You're right. Everyone--to
the van! [go to van. drive away]
[At the airport]
RACHEL: I'm scared--what if no one
likes me.
DELIA: Unlikely
KAREN: Girls. . .come on [board
plane] Pennsylvania--here we come.
RACHEL: This sucks
DELIA: I love how honest you are.
RACHEL: Why, thank you, Delia.
JOEY: I don't wanna go! NO!
Aww, this sucks.
KAREN: Joey!
JOEY: Crap! Crap, crap, crap,
crap, crap, crap.
KAREN: Joey! Stop!
JOEY: Crap! I gots in trouble!
ROB: Joseph, stop it.
JOEY: Sorry. . .but crap--I got in
trouble!
KAREN, ROB: Joseph Michael!
JOEY: I sorry.
ROBBIE: Joey, you dork. If you
get in trouble, you don't keep saying the word.
JOEY: What word? Crap?
ROBBIE: Yeah, that one.
JOEY: Oh. I guess so.
ROBBIE: Duh--you retard.
ROB: Robbie, you fool.
ROBBIE: I'm a fool?
ROB: You're trying to teach Joey how
to not get in trouble, but you're getting yourself in deeper [Rachel
laughs] Rachel. . .
RACHEL: Sorry. . .it just sounded
funny. It was ironic and it amused me.
KAREN: Oh boy--I love you kids
DELIA: We love you, too
ROB: Lebanon, watch out. Here
come the Heverlings.
[Next morning. On Hanson tour bus.
In Fort Lauderdale]
DIANA: [shaking Taylor] Tay.
Tay. . .Taylor. Taylor, wake up. Jordan! Get up!
[pulls him off his bunk] Wake up!
TAYLOR: [moans] Good morning
to you, too.
DIANA: Taylor--we've been trying to
make you up for an hour. First Isaac tried, then Zac. . .
TAYLOR: Zac was up before me?
But he's the one who always sleeps in.
DIANA: I know. You must be dead
tired. When did you finally get to bed?
TAYLOR: About--humm. . .2 a.m.
DIANA: Geez, Taylor. Why?
TAYLOR: I was thinking about the Heverlings
leaving Tulsa. Its so strange.
DIANA: I know it is, but you can't
be losing sleep over it.
TAYLOR: I know, I'm sorry. I'll
try to get more sleep.
DIANA: You better. We don't
need you falling asleep at interviews.
TAYLOR: I know.
DIANA: Now get out of bed and get
dressed.
TAYLOR: I am out of bed--you pulled
me out, remember.
DIANA: Oh yeah. [smiles.
rubs his head] Now go get dressed.
ZAC: Hello, Taylor. I see that
you've decided to join us in the world instead of living in your bunk.
TAYLOR: No--I did not decide.
DIANA: I yanked him out of bed.
ZAC: Well, its about time. Ike
and I were starting to convince Jess to pretend to be you. Of course,
she thought I was nuts, but still. . .
TAYLOR: You are nuts. I'm going
to go get dressed.
ZAC: You do that, Tay. [Taylor goes
in bathroom. Diana and Zac shake their heads] [Lebanon.
Heverlings have just arrived at their new home]
RACHEL: [drops bags.] Hello
new house. [looks outside] When are the moving vans getting
here?
KAREN: [walks in empty living room]
I don't know--soon. I hope. Honey--were you talking to the
house? [Rachel nods] Hmm. . .why don't you go pick a bedroom.
And try not to talk to it.
RACHEL: Alright, I'll try. But
who else will I talk to?
KAREN: Your sister, now go.
RACHEL: Okay [walks up stairs]
ROB: Hey, Rachel--pick a bedroom--well,
except for this one. Its for your mother and I--
RACHEL: Okay. Hey Delia. . .
DELIA: Huh? [comes out of a
room]
RACHEL: Which room did you pick?
DELIA: None--I told Robbie and Joey
that we would all pick together--to be fair. But. . .I want this
one.
RACHEL: Okay--well, I want this one
next to it. Its cool.
DELIA: Robbie! Joey! You
can have the rooms that you wanted!
JOEY: Cool! C'mon Robbie.
RACHEL: [walks in room. drops
her bags.] Hello room. Its nice to meet you.
ROB: Rachel--are you talking to your
room?
RACHEL: Yes.
ROB: Um. . .alright. [Rachel
smiles]
KAREN: [calling up stairs] Moving
van is here! [Rachel, Joey, Robbie, Delia and Rob go downstairs to help.]
[As they unload van, a man, woman, 2 boys and 1 girl come over]
MAN: Hi, I'm Rick. This is my
wife, Susan.
SUSAN: Hello
KAREN: Hello
RICK: And these are our triplets.
They're all 17. Just finishing their junior year in high school.
Its Joel, Brian, and Carissa. We're the Klines. We live next
door.
JOEL, BRIAN, CARISSA: Hi
KAREN, ROB: Hi
KAREN: I'm Karen Heverling.
This is my husband, Rob. Those are our kids. Hey, guys come
over here. [Joey, Robbie, Delia and Rachel come over] Kids,
this is Rick and Susan Kline and their 17-year-old kids Brian, Carissa,
and Joel.
JOEL, BRIAN, CARISSA, RICK, SUSAN:
Hello
KAREN: This is Delia, she's 20.
Rachel is 16. Robbie and Joey are 11.
JOEY: Hey! I'm Joey. That's
Robbie. Don't get us confused. Its offending.
ROBBIE: Yeah--the last thing I want
to be called is Joey.
JOEY: Robbie is gay.
ROBBIE: You're gay.
JOEY: Nuh-uh. You are.
ROB: Okay boys--come help me unload.
JOEL: [walks up to Rachel] Hi,
I'm Joel. I understand that you're Rachel.
RACHEL: Yes--hey, Mom. Where's
Ember?
KAREN: Sleeping, remember.
RACHEL: Oh--yeah. . .anyway, Joel.
. .
JOEL: Yeah--so, where did you move
here from?
SUSAN: Joel, they're obviously busy.
I'm sorry, we can come back later.
KAREN: Please do. [smiles]
SUSAN: Why don't you come over for
dinner tonight.
KAREN: Um. . .alright. When?
SUSAN: Around 6? We live right
over there.
KAREN: Okay, see you then.
SUSAN: Bye [Rick, Susan, Brian,
Joel and Carissa leave]
