I live on a Texas farmwhere I raise Thoroughbred Horses.
I also have many chickens, cats, and a burro. Come in and sit down and make yourself at home
I love horseracing as that is my occupation. The horses that I breed and raise are sent to the racetrack if they have potential. Visit my page:Horses
I love cats but I was overwhelmed by what greeted me when I purchased the farm back in 1990. Living in the barn were many feral cats...all female and most pregnant. They were very wild with the exception of the "main" female. She decided that I looked like a "soft touch" to her. She followed me around from the first day and convinced me that she was the most important cat in the world. Her name was Ethel. I will dedicate a webpage to her later along with the rest of my cats. It took me more than two years to manage to trap all of them, tame them, and get them spayed and neutered. Today there are 7 cats here. All of them are perfectly behaved and with a personality all of their own. They serve me well by keeping the rodent population down.
Little Ladybird, passed away in September, 2002. She was a small dog, mixed breed, lineage uncertain, just as her age was unknown. She was devoted to me and would tackle the largest mountain lion (if we had mountain lions) if she thought I was in danger. She had bad habits, however. None of us are perfect. she was an egg sucking dog, rather eat cat food than dog food, and didn't smell too good. However, she was worth a small fortune to me.
I had a pet goose named Spook. He was better than any watch dog. He honked loudly when any thing strange was going on, and would chase anything but me. He had no fear. He followed me around the entire time I was outdoors. He thought that it was his duty to pull hens out of nesting boxes, grab sleeping cats, and "goose" Ladybird if she got too close to him or me.
My burro is a working animal. It is his job to halter break young horses and teach them to lead. His name is Bubba. He is very fond of me and won't let anything near me. He hates most of the other farm residents...Ladybird, Spook, and all cats. He ignores chickens.
That is about what it is like living at my farm. I hope you have enjoyed the tour and will come back to visit. It was nice meeting you!!!
