CHAPTER 5 - LORRY

Garth had thrown a hissy fit when mom and I hadn't been able to agree on a video clip so it was great when D had arrived. She's so amazing, she can talk anyone into doing anything. I owed everything to her, she was the one that discovered me and I would be eternally grateful to her for that, but more than that she had been my friend. She had been the one that had constantly kept up my spirits all through the recording of Starlight. She had been the one that had called me straight after shelogged on to the internet in the middle of the night when the chart positions were first revealed, to tell me that Starlight was number one in the US. She was the one that had organised a surprise party for me. She was the one that had taken me to her father's cabin in the mountains for the weekend when the paparazzi had first started following me. She was my bestfried even though she was three years older than me. She was one of those special people that only come along every so often. Who else could talk mom into a topless scene for my next video clip?

The door opened again and D wheeled herself in. She gave me a bright smile.
"Excuse me Garth, do you think you oculd spare our little starlet for a few hours?" I glanced at her curiously, but her sober face didn't let anything slip. Garth waved his arms about dramatically.
"Go ahead! Take her! Stunt my creative genius!" I giggled and turned to mom.
"Is it okay mom?"
"Well, where will you be going?" D cut in.
"Just out for a bit of Lorry time. You know, kick back, relax, get away from it. A bit of R & R" Mom nodded, how could she say no?

"So where are we actually going D?" I asked as I followed her down the hall. She looked at me.
"Actually, I don't exactly know" I stopped in my tracks.
"What do you mean you don't know?" She laughed.
"Well...Isaac didn't say" My eyes widened.
"Isaac...as in Isaac Hanson?!" She nodded and I began pushing her faster until we reached the car park where Isaac was waiting by a silver van. He waved his arm towards it.
"My trusty steed m'ladies" I giggled and he turned to me, grasped my hand and kissed it.
"Ah, the lovely Lorry Love. You're a very talented musician, we may have to kill you"
"Thanks Isaac uh...I'm a really huge fan of yours, it's great to finally meet you. Your music is amazing" He blushed slightly and D cleared her throat.
"Oh don't mind me I just wanted to know where we were going" Isaac blushed again. Oh no! He had the hots for D! He opened the door to his van.
"Well, I thought we might take a trip downtown, if that's alright with everyone here" We nodded.
"D, you can sit up front" I offered. She blushed. I knew she hated getting out of her wheelchair in front of people. I quickly walked to her side.
"Do you want me to go get your dad?" I asked. She nodded.
"No need for that. I can get you in. Am I not a man?"
"I was just asking myself the same thing" D muttered. I laughed as Isaac blushed again. And before either of us could protest, he had gathered D up in his arms. I watched as they looked into each others eyes. There was definitely something there. It should've been R rated. He sat her up in the front seat and I folded up her wheelchair and dragged it into the back with me. We sped off to Tulsa Central.
