CHAPTER 3 - ISAAC

I was dreading having to go back to the studios two days later. I measn sure, Ana I mean Anastasia was a drop-dead gorgeous girl and I was flattered that she "wanted me" as she put it, but I just plain didn't like her. She was conniving, malicious and obviously spoilt. After that little scene in the office I didn't know what to say, of course tay and Zac did and bombarded me with questions all the way home. Eventually I told Tay what had happened and we agreed that I should go down to the studios and straighten things out with her. And as it happened, there were some papers for the band that needed to be picked up. So there I was, heading along the highway towards the studios. And I must admit that I was a bit upset to see that her little BMW was there again today. I made my way into the offices, stopping at the reception desk where the secretary informed me that the papers were in the Greyferns' office. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A femal voice answered.
"Come in" I groaned inwardly.
Damn! I would have to talk to her! I opened the door and slowlt peeked in. Anastasia was sitting at the mahogany desk alone, looking even more beautiful than before if that was possible. She had tied half of her long hair up loosly and was bent over some papers. She was wearing a shifty pink camasole top and I could see her black leather clad legs under the desk. She looked up at me and smiled and I noticed that she was wearing small, gold-rimmed glasses.
"Hi, can I help you?" I frowned, she was certainly a lot nicer than the other day.
Uh...yeah, first of all I need to pick up some papers for the band and secdonly I need to talk to you" She looked puzzled.
"Oh right, the papers, they're here, but why do you have to talk to me?" I couldn't believe it, was she thick as well as conniving? She grinned.
"Oh well, that can wait, here are the papers" She said, handing me the stack she had been sifting through earlier. She blushed.
"Um...this is gonna sound really stupid, and I know you get this all the time, but could I have your autograph? You see, I've always been a fan" Alright, now I was weirded out.
"Yeah" I muttered "I could tell from the other day, that's what I need to talk to you about" I quickly scrawled a greeting on a piece of paper.
"The other day?" She asked innocently, taking the slip of paper without looking at it. Now I was mad.
"Yeah! The other day when you threw yourself at me! Ring a bell? You may think you can have anything you want but I would greatly appreciate it if you could stay the hell away from me from now on! I don't care who your father is! I don't like you! Stay away from me! Got it?" I hadn't meant to say that but this girl rubbed me the wrong way. She glanced at me levelly.
"Are you quite finished?" I glared at her.
"Unless you want to try something else on me" I hissed. She glared right back at me.
"Look I don't know what the hell you're talking about! I've never met you before in my life! And first of all it is physically impossible for me to 'throw' myself at anyone. Secondly, I know better than anyone that I can't have everything I want! So if you wouldn't mind...get out!" I laughed bitterly.
"That's right! PLay dumb!" A look of realisation flickered across her face and she clapped her hand over her mouth in shock. She laughed then.
"Oh my god! You think I'm Anastasia!" I raised my eyebrows at her.
"No, I know you are" I replied she continued to laugh.
"I'm not Ana, she's my cousine. I'm Justin's daughter, Deanna" She stuck out her hand to me but I batted it away.
"For Christ's sake! Now you lie about it! Just admit that what you did the other day was wrong and I'll go. I hate liars!" I spat. She pushed her chair out from behind the desk, her eyes flashing with anger and I noticed with a shock that she was sitting in a wheelchair. She wheeled over to where I was standing.
"Oh...I'm a liar am I? Well you tell me, was Ana in one of these the other day?" I shook my head mutely. The office door opened and Justin walked in. He smiled at me.
"Ah, Isaac, I see you've met my daughter Deanna" I nodded. Deanna gave me a look of triumph and smiled up at him.
"I'm gonna go and visit with Garth now daddy, see what he's up to with Lorry's clip" Justin smiled back and held the door open for her. He shook his head sadly.
"She's had a hard life Isaac. My little D was born with useless legs and her mother died when she was still young. Of course I do the best I can but I'm not around much. I love her more than anything, but I'm afraid, sometimes, that isn't quite enough" My heart twitched. He smiled.
"But, she still manages to bring a ray of sunlight into my life and anybody elses that knows her, every single day" I nodded.
"Uh...Mr. Greyfern?"
"Please call me Justin" He said smiling.
"Uh...Justin, where was Deanna going? It's just we had a little misunderstanding earlier and I'd like to apologise" Justin's manner changed.
I hope you didn't do anything to hurt my little girl" He said warningly. I shook my head quickly.
"No, no, nothing like that. I just...we got off on the wrong foot" The smile returned to his face.
"Wel I appreciate it" He gave me directions to the room and I set of to find her.
