"Sea Speaker" May 21, 2004. Sakana Uroko is one of the characters in the internet epic mini-series, Yumébara. Her name means "Fish", suggesting her connection to the sea and sea-creatures; like all the character names in Yumébara, their names are not typical japanese names, but rather japanese words that epitomize their character or powers. Comments: When I began remaking the website and story for Yumébara, I had wanted to completly redo all the characters as well--give them a face-lift, persay. And on top of that, I had never really even created a good character image of Sakana (they were always small where you couldn't really see much beyond her coral-coloured hair). This picture...I was going to go further with it and CG, but after a while of studying it I realized this is not how I wanted Sakana to look. Not to mention that the style was inconsistent with the other character images I had made. This image made her looks too young and "smiling"...when her character is supposed to be older, wiser, and slightly (mysteriously) troubled. She should probably have longer, thinner hair...MUCH smaller eyes and facial features and clothes that aren't typical of a japanese school-girl. Concerning quality, this isn't too bad of an image. It just...isn't striking in any way besides the fact that it goes against all conventions of yumébara's original tone.
