"The Cat Whisperer" May 21, 2004. Neko Sasayaki is one of the characters in the internet epic mini-series, Yumébara. Her name means "Cat Whisper"; like all the character names in Yumébara, their names are not typical japanese names, but rather japanese words that epitomize their character or powers. Comments: When I began remaking the website and story for Yumébara, I had wanted to completly redo all the characters as well--give them a face-lift, persay. I had played around with neko sasayaki, and this was one of the sketches. I didn't really like where it went...while I liked the original idea and how I got the playful nature down, the drawing looked like everything was too..long and droopy. I want her to seem small and bouncy (like a kitten). The image is kind of plain and lazily drawn, plus her legs are all wrong...good thing it's just a sketch.
