"New Neko" May 18, 2004. Neko Sasayaki is one of the characters in the internet epic mini-series, Yumébara. Her name means "Cat Whisper"; like all the character names in Yumébara, their names are not typical japanese names, but rather japanese words that epitomize their character or powers. Comments: When I began remaking the website and story for Yumébara, I had wanted to completly redo all the characters as well--give them a face-lift, persay. I had played around with neko sasayaki, and this was one finished CG-images. I ended up really liking the image (it was a simple empty-shade on tracing paper at first), and decided to do a quick CG job. (Since I had already inked it on paper, it only took about an hour to CG). I like the colors I had chosen for her hair and eyes...I liked how she seemed more, 'bubbly', and youthful...so much that I used this image in the new YB layout. The only thing is, now that I look back, I don't like the tatoo's design on her arm, and I don't like how this is just a cleaned up version of the old YB style (look at the cheek). I still need to design a clothing line for the story that conveys a sense of verisimilitude...I do, however, like her ears ;).
