| She sees diamonds in the rain And wisdom in the pain She sees royal crowns in daisies Simple truths in the plain She sees the face on planet Mars Hears lullabies from the stars Believes in whatever's over the rainbow That love can heal the scars Ah, her poet heart thinks I'm a Knight in shining armour Slaying her dragons and taking her To a castle far away She watches Bambi and she cries I say I love her and she flies I touch her and she trembles To my kiss she closes her eyes Her worldview is tinted rose Her opinions she holds quite close Her look is always faraway Her hand too fine for prose Ah, her poet heart thinks I'm a White-hatted gunslinger Riding off with her into a Flaming western sunset She brings the song to my darkness And jewels to my gray skies Fire to my dying days And the light into my eyes She says her soul will never forget What her heart knows today She says she belongs to the ages That she still belongs to me Ah, her poet heart thinks I'm her Dashing romantic lover Writing sonnets by some Dreamy English brook And her poet heart loves me Like I never dreamed to be loved I hope my love ever rhymes with hers My heart, my poet heart |
