These are the playlists for the shows that I've done on CKCU. I try and update this page as the show progresses, but it's probably best to give me a day to get it up here with links and everything. If you'd like to listen to me, my show broadcasts Thursday mornings, 9:30-noon., and can be heard in Ottawa, Canada, western Quebec and northern New York state by tuning into 93.1 FM, and it is also available worldwide via the Internet and streaming Real Audio by going to CKCU's audio page. More recent playlists can be found here.

Due to schedule conflicts, I had to pre-record most of the show (only Arab Strap and my jabbering at the beginning were live) and unfortunately there was a technical problem somewhere along the lines as the show played off a computer on air, and the show ended early. I have no idea what ended up being deleted from the show, so I don't know which of these songs didn't get played. Sorry. I'll try and make it up next week. This is the playlist as recorded by Chris I (Monday afternoons at 4) and me. Also thanks to Dave for trying to get the show into proper working order (listen to him Wednesdays at 4), and Taline for doing a last second fill-in. No thanks to Andrea (Wed. at 3). She knows why.

Update: Elvin Jones Dead at 76. He died May 18. I knew he was ill, but I didn't know he was that sick. For those of you that missed this show, "Birthday March" and "A Love Supreme" were played in hopes of sending "good vibes" to and a recovery on the part of Mr Jones. While it didn't work, I did get a call from a listener who was very impressed by the Elvin Jones Trio track, particularily the drums, and for music that's nearly 40 years old, maybe that's all really needs to be said about the wonderful talent that was Elvin Jones.

March 20, 2004: Did anybody see The Citizen today? In their Saturday music review section, they also have a weekly feature where they go to a different music store around town and ask four people what they bought. Two of the four people bought music by artists played on the show this week! (Dizzee Rascal and Jackie Mittoo, if you're curious.) I'm going to pretend that I'm such a popular DJ/tastemaker that people are rushing out to buy what I play, even if they gave stories for buying their respective discs that totally contradict that (and the kid was wrong when he said the DR album just came out last month; it's been out since September, but it was nice to see someone say that even though he'd downloaded an album for free he still rushed out to buy it when he could. Even if it was from a used CD shop.).
