ALTERNATIVE ALTAR ITEMS

THE ALTAR
~instead of a traditional altar, your see a wire bakers rack supporting the tools of a kitchen witch.
~build a dolmen(stone altar) in your yard using bricks, rocks, cement blocks...

EARTH
~a slice of carefully dried apple, with the star showing clearly, acts as a pentacle, while shallow bowls hold ritual salt and water.

AIR
~a large wooden spoon inscribed with magickal symbols makes a perfect wand. Nearby, a hotpot releases wonderful potpourri scent..

FIRE
~the athame, a sharp paring knife, is convienent for cutting herbs fresh from the garden. The broom is often used to purify space before a circle is cast, and in spells involving clensing.

WATER
~instead of an elaborate chalice, you see a simply glazed pottery mug of apple cider. Next to it rests a cauldron, which is a symbol of the goddess. The cauldron is used in ritual as a container in which magickal changes can occur and is often the focal point of the ritual.

SPIRIT
~gourd, pine cone, and a statue of mother earth bask in the flickering light of the green candles.
