THE BRITISH ARE COMING, THE BRITISH ARE COMING

Picture this, it was the year 1775, and the colonies wanted independence from Great Britain. Paul Revere, a hero of the American Revolution who was immortalized in the poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, �The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,� kept vigil while the residents of the Boston area slept comfortably in their beds. Paul waited patiently for a sign from a nearby church tower to indicate impending danger from the British. When the signal came, he immediately jumped on his horse and rode from town to town crying out the alarm, �The British Are Coming!� This action on the part of Paul Revere enabled the sleeping town�s folk to arise and prepare for what was to come. Historically would things have turned out differently if that infamous ride had not taken place? Who am I to say, but I am sure many lives were spared by not being caught unaware.
Today the world also faces a crucial danger, a peril more colossal than any we have ever known. A peril we also are given signs for which to watch. And, just as on the night of April 18, 1775, the world is also deep in slumber. Fortunately, we too have town criers who are willing to keep abreast of the events which are leading up to the ultimate happening, the Rapture of the Church.
With the Rapture quickly approaching, I can never do enough for my Lord, especially considering all He has done for me. However, I do consider myself a �Town Crier� a job which I take very seriously. I dutifully check the Bible Prophecy sites, as well as intensely follow daily news searching for red flags, signs given to us by the Bible prophets. When I come across a warning I recognize as being from the Bible, I immediately jump on my imaginary horse, and ride off to spread the news I have just discovered. (My horse�s name must be �High� as my son is always telling people; I am on my high horse again.) It is always my hope, however, that through my efforts, I will awaken someone from their slumber, and they will be spared the terror of the Great Tribulation.
Perhaps everyone isn�t called to be a pastor, missionary, or teacher, but there is always something people can do for the Lord. If you want to find a job in these the End Times, consider becoming a �Town Crier.� Help warn people about the impending danger. You may not go down in annals of history as did Paul Revere on his midnight hour ride, or have a famous poet put your efforts to verse, but you can have consolation in knowing that you help spread the alarm to those who slumber. We too are at the midnight hour, wake up people, �Jesus is coming, Jesus is coming!�
