Setting up the Document Structure.

Welcome to My Homework Page

This is my homework page for Web Tech University. This is a lot easier than I thought.

Heading Elements run from H1 through to H6

This is the largest, and is often used in headers

This header is commonly used in sub-text beneath the main header

This could be used as

I don't when to use this one

never used this one
I even didn't know that you can use this one too

When I look at my website now, it looks like an eye test :-)

I know how to make paragraphs and soon my web pages will be looking tidy and smart, and neatly arranged with eadings and paragraphs.

A little exercise:

The Eagle He clasps the crag with crooked hands; Close to the sun in lonely lands, Rined with the azure world, he stands. The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls; He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls. Lord Alfred Tennson

With these tags we make it more readable and prettier.

The Eagle

Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Rined with the azure world, he stands./P>

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

Lord Alfred Tennson

Blocking out

You have a poem on your page, but wouldn't it look better if it was different from the normal text on the page. Maybe indented a bit.

There is an HTML element just for this - the BLOCKQUOTE /BLOCKQUOTE

A blockquote element indents the text on the left and right sides, and as its name suggests, is for blocking out quoted text

The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Rined with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his montain walls,
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

Lord Alfred Tennson
