Lessons Learned

I learned a valuable lesson today,
about the love that once was gave.
In searching through my newfound love,
to find my answers from above.

We sigh and wonder if it's right,
or should we just give up the fight.
In my prayers, I saw the ways
we answer Him from day to day.

We desire unconditional love,
but run when we receive it from above.
How he must cry and suffer so,
at the callousness of our souls.

He continues to patiently wait,
as he prepares to meet us at the gate.
And when we doubt and become afraid,
He reminds me, "My love will never fade."
