The department, which started initially with one PC and one PC-XT in 1991, presently has many latest computer systems ranging from simple PCs to Pentiums. Apart from this, the department possesses several advance computer peripherals such as DMP, Inkjet and Laser Jet Printers, as well as Scanners, Multimedia kits etc. The modest computer laboratory facilities of the Dept. of Physics and of Computer Centre are also available to students. Students are exposed to work in the two popular environment i.e. DOS and WINDOWS 95/98/2000/ MILLENNIUM, UNIX environment is being created. E-mail & Internet facilities are available (though with poor connectivity) in the Dept. of Computer Science/Computer Center. Further, substantial improvement in the computing facilities, both in the Dept. of Computer Science as well as at Computer Centre, will be possible very soon through the grants received from UGC, New Delhi. Very soon, it will be possible to establish all these facilities in a separate building under construction, adjoining the physics building.
