ILKESTON TOWN
LADIES F.C.
CLUB HISTORY
Formed in the close season
of 1992/93 when Spondon Ladies and Nottingham Rangers merged to
form Stanton Rangers. During the 1993/94 season Stanton Rangers
won through to the Semi-Finals of the FA Cup, this game was
scheduled to be played at the New Manor Ground in Ilkeston.
After the Semi-Final the board of Ilkeston Town (Men's Club)
invited Stanton Rangers to move across town to become Ilkeston
Town Ladies FC, which they gratefully did. Ilkeston are now in
their eighth consecutive season as members of the Women's
National Premier League.
Ilkeston Town Ladies were the feature of a documentary by Central
TV. The programme entitled '24 Hours' followed the Clubs run
through to a quarter final appearance against Arsenal.
