NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER
WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE!  It's so good to see you again.  Stay a while and
let's have a cupachowda!!  That's one word for those of you unfamiliar with New England lingo!
" 'Queequeg, said I, "do you think that we can make out a supper for us both on one clam?'  However, a warm savory steam from the kitchen served to belie the apparently cheerless prospect before us. But when that smoking chowder came in, the mystery was delightfully explained.  Oh sweet friends!  hearken to me.  It was made of small juicy clams, scarcely bigger than hazel nuts, mixed with pounded ship biscuit, and salted pork cut up into little flakes; the whole poached with butter, and plentifully seasoned with pepper and salt."--Herman Melville, Moby Dick
This month's recipe for Clam Chowder is, of course, in the traditional New England style...is there any other?? Every state in New England has it's own version of the best New England Clam Chowder ever!  I hope you will like this version...basic and easy to make.  Enjoy!
IN THE KITCHEN ~  WITH MOM is my first cookbook!!  It was printed in December 1999.  It is a collection of 173 recipes that I have developed and acquired over the years from family and friends.  All the recipes featured  in "Recipe of the Month" come from the book.  The book has been reprinted, and is now available for $19.95, which includes shipping and handling.
