Barcelona - 13/03/2005 Today I made my first truita de patates (potato omelette). This is a typical Catalan dish and, because it is easy to make, people often make it when they have lots of people coming round for some food. The problem is, although this may be an easy dish to make if you're Catalan and have been watching your parents make it since you were crawling on all fours, but as you'll see in the photo below, to an Englishman it's slightly more difficult. The omelette should have a delightful fluffy texture, but although I cooked the potatoes perfectly, the eggs just had a try taste to them (rather similar to what I get when I just make an ordinary omelette). Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? If you can advise me on how to make this dish properly, please send me an e-mail. TIMOTHY BARTON Back to home En Fr Ct Es Oc Any tips?
