These are usually very dull to watch, unless you make them yourself.
Materials:
1 paper tube (it doesn't need to be thick, a piece of printer paper rolled over about 5 times with no glue and taped is sufficient.
Sparklers, (a pack or two based on how big of a display you want. Whatever color you choose is the color it will be when ignited, duh.)
Some Dragons Eggs, about 50-100 pebbles. ( for those of you who do not know what these are they are the little balck pebbles that come out of crackle balls and crackle whips)
Match Heads (3 books or more worth.)
Fuse
Hot glue
Tip: To scare the hell out of people put a large flash salute at the end of the fountain.
Step 1: Grind the sparkler between your fingers. So now they are in chunks do not powder it.
Put the chunks in a pile.
Step 2: Add to that pile, add dragon's eggs, match heads and what ever powder you want.
Step 3: Start now with the end plug, take some tissue and push it up the tube about a quarter of an inch in. then fill end with hot glue, let dry.
Step 4: Add all the stuff in the pile to the tube. Make sure the powders are well mixed together.
Step 5: Once that's done add your fuse at the top.
Effects: There will be lots of color and crackles with lit matches flying everywhere. Enjoy.
