| Black Match Materials: 1 bowl Black powder An old pot or pan (that will not be used for eating) Dextrin ( to make dextrin go here) Yarn or cotton string ( ideally 1/16 in diameter) Something to stir with. ( a dowel is good, if you use a spoon, make sure no one is going to eat with it.) Latex gloves ( you van get them from wal-mart and some grocery stores) A piece of wood or something thin with a 1/8 hole drilled in it. Tape Step 1: Take 20 parts of Black Powder and mixing it (using a ball mill for 30 minutes) with 1 or 2 parts of dextrin. Step 2: Place this into a bowl. Step 3: Boil some water and add it slowly while mixing, to the BP/dextrin mixture until a paste with a consistency as thick as oatmeal, has been obtained. Step 4: Take your string/yarn and drop a length of the string into the BP paste-filled bowl, and stir it around with a plastic rod for about 3 minutes. Step 5: Put on your gloves and take the string out, and rub in the BP paste that stays attached to the sting with a circular motion of the thumb, index finger, and middle finger. Step 6: Place the string back into the BP paste and stir it around for about another minute. Step 7: Take your wood or whatever with the 1/8 hole in it and put one end of the BP-paste-coated string through the hole and pull until the entire string has passed through the hole. This will take off any excess BP paste Step 8: Tape one end of the fuse to a rack or similar item and allow it to dry. |
