| DESCRIZIONE DEL SITO: LA CHIESA DI S.IGNAZIO La costruzione della chiesa di S.Ignazio ebbe inizio nel 1654 e si deve ai Gesuiti. L'edificio � a navata unica, affiancato da tre cappelle per lato, priva di transetto e con uno stretto presbiterio ad abside tronca. Sulle cappelle laterali corre una galleria. La pianta ripropone uno schema adottato, con scarse varianti, in molte chiese della Compagnia Gesuita. I lavori furono portati a termine molto pi� tardi. La costruzione della facciata fu ideata da Tausch, al quale si deve il grande affresco absidale con la "Gloria di S. Ignazio". La facciata costituisce un interessante esempio di barocco romano "rivisitato" e il suo aspetto "eccentrico" � dato dalle coperture di rame a forma di cipolla delle due torri campanarie laterali. Nessun'altra chiesa dell'isontino presenta nella facciata una simile complessit� di ideazione e ricchezza di elementi. |
| SITE DESCRIPTION: S. IGNAZIO CHURCH The construction of S. Ignazio ' church started on 1654 by the Jesuits. The building has only one nave, and it is flanked by three chapels for side, without transept and with a constricted presbytery with broken apse. The plant propose again a selected scheme, with scarce changimgs, in many churches of jesuit companj. The works were finished many years later. The construction of the face was thought by Tahush, who painted the big fresco "S.Ignazio ' s glory". The face rapresent an interesting example of roman baroque "revisited" and its peculiar appearnce is shawn by the copper roofing on onion form of the two bell towers. No other church of the Isontino presents on the face a similar complexity of idea and abundance of elements. |
