SPRING SPLHash EGGSTRAVAGANZA - Run #454

On the Easter weekend 12 hashers made their way to the beautiful coastal village of Lund on the Sunshine Coast. We were met there by our hosts Nipple Detector and Annie Cockadoo (ACD) who are the proprietors of the Sunlund Campground and cottages and Whale Wanker who is a Calgary hasher who we have determined has settled there to live up to his name.

The visiting hashers included Shack Shock and Pyro who made it all the way from Calgary for the event and ten hashers from Victoria including the hares Jonners (aka P'Tooey) and Lakey and their dogs Flirt and Crazy Horse. The other VH3 visitors were Stoolie, Deep Sh*t, Double Hump, High Beams, Banged Up Between, Preemie, Ass Slipper and Call Boy. Most arrived on Saturday and were greeted with barbequed hamburgers and beer.

The run started in the sun and had everyone confused right from the start. It turned out the trail was through a neighbours backyard. At every check the hares had laid eggs which the pack had to find. Double Hump proved to be the most proficient at this as he carefully filled his bunny bag. Yes along with High Beams and Deep Sh*t they had cum prepared as hare wannabes laying eggs along the trail to lead us the way. However, this was a veteran group of hashers who were not to be misled so easily. The trail offered some serious shiggy which is to be expected this time of year on the Wet Coast. Calling this area the Sunshine Coast is Canada's equivalent to the naming of Greenland.

The trail took us by some interesting sites including old cars with thirty feet trees around them, Whale Wanker's yard and the watershed lands. It was a fun run and the sun stayed out right up until we leaving the beer check at the Gazebo theatre. It was a great place for a beer check and Stoolie took the time to have his picture with a noose around his neck. Not sure what his crime was but it was a Stoolie moment. On the way back to the start it was time for the rain to start. This was soon followed by sleet and hail. The down downs were held under the cover of the new Sunlund cottages. I think everyone was charged with something which was a good thing because there was lots of beer to drink. Once this was done Nipple Detector gave out the hash trash which was water guns. Normally this would precipitate a huge free for all water fight. However, at that particular moment the sleet changed to snow and everyone wanted to jump in the hot tub which are hosts had so generously provided.

The evening ended with a cornucopia of seafood including fresh oysters, clams, prawns and salmon along with turkey. ACD had prepared the food while we were frolicking in the hot tub which was a good thing because just before dinner the power went out. Not to worry we ate by candlelight and it just made the event more memorable. It was a great spot to celebrate Easter and if you get the chance take in a SPLHash as it is definitely a great place to hash. Even Flirt was reluctant to leave as Lakey remarked she didn't want to get into the car when they were leaving.
