Fifteen hashers, a visitor from Calgary and two virgins gathered at Kitty Licker's home for his annual Chili Hash. The pack was greeted at the start with an HHH in yellow snow! How much more Canadian can you get?
Double Hump was dressed in his finest jersey in recognition of the seventh annual Hockey Day in Canada which was hosted by Nelson, B.C. Thirteen hours of hockey in an all-Canadian triple-header. A Canadian male's wet dream!
Rob, the virgin, showed up in shorts as a challenge to the weather gods who have been angry recently. The rest of us huddled beneath multiple layers and tried to think warm thoughts.
The runners followed a challenging trail of orange blobs through the snow covered hills and dales of Dean Park. The walkers strolled gingerly up the icy road to the communication tower.
The pack met at the view point where we enjoyed a commanding view of the Saanich Peninsula with the ocean in the distance. The sky was darkening by the time we reached the beer check at the bottom of the road. The beer was particularly tasty after the battle that Hi Beams and Hot Nuts had with the canning machine.
The circle was a raucous affair. Double Hump needed all his skills to control the unruly mob.
Jonners from Calgary had to drink for having too many hash names (four). Virgin Chris told a fine joke and had to drink for boasting about his manhood by wearing a LRG shirt. BUB drank for an offence that I can't remember. Digger, Jack Off and Preemie drank for being elderly.
Former RAs Digger and Stoolie were resisting the supreme authority of the RA and should have received five-minutes each for instigation. A donnybrook almost broke out and the testosterone was flowing in rivers. Instead, they had to drink which was probably the plan in the first place.
Stoolie spotted Raedene using a hiking pole on the trail which was too much of an opportunity to let pass. Stools suggested the name "Pole Dancer" and the pack whole heartedly agreed. Welcome Pole Dancer to the VH3. Eager Beaver couldn't wait to get home for a demonstration.
The pack eventually got even with Double Hump by declaring him Wanker of the Week. The Wanker Cup was missing in action as usual.
The pack retired to Kitty's kitchen for a hearty meal of chili and garlic bread. The food was excellent, the beer was flowing and three Canadian games were on the tube. All was well on Hockey Day in Canada!
A huge thanks to Kitty for his hospitality!
