Elk Lake Hash Run
July 29, 2006

The coveted 5 star rating was achieved on the past hash. "... two thumbs way up!!!!!!" [their ass!]

Homer and Slow Cooker provided a challenging yet doable route the sublime beauty of which was in the simplicity of the construct. As one enthusiast noted: "My eyes were truly opened as to the real meaning of being a hasher. It was like seeing for the first time (since I'm usually drunk)."

About fourteen stalwarts braved the warm sunny day. The trail was cunningly laid such that no matter where we were led, ground was always safely underfoot. Alas, no water crossings, but a magnificent view of the Elk lake. The north end of this lake is usually a wild, untamed area but the faithful flour enabled us to skirt the lake's perimeter (i.e. on the littoral area...causing waves of excitement.)

We were then sent as if by magic into the woods until we arrived at a road crossing, thence up Bear Hill. This haunted incline was much brightened by our cheerful calls of "On On" and "You rat bastard" etc.

Once down the hill, the smell of amber nectar brought us to the home of Frozen Lips, an erstwhile hasher who was away camping. The heat of the day was quickly dissipated and fortunately we were a mere 100m from the car park.

In the circle, wankers were in a bidding war trying to give the trail the highest ranking. Stoolie was careful to contain the frenzy.

The two BLABS: Double Hump and Beaver Fever, lame excuses in tow, insinuated themselves into the circle.

The hares were roasted and toasted. Preemie thoughtfully brought some VH3 brew that was about room temp and this was used for the balance of down-downs. A fitting grog for wankers (sorry,Grog). Notable was the fact that Longest Member showed himself...and was downed.

Apres circle, Deep Shit, Slow Cooker, High Beams and other fish-like persons went for a swim. They swore the water was warm but the wind picked up and that left Plumber's Mate, frigid on shore.

On afters were at the Hare's where burgers and beer were served along with snoozing and String Theory.

A well-rounded day indeed.

On-on
