I've written an auxiliary tune to memorize the Arabic Alphabet. The tune is based on a tune i've heard in an web site for learners of Arabic . In order to listen to my tune, you will need the Finale NotePad software, which is freely downloadable (available for the Windows and Macintosh platforms).
Download the zipped music file and extract it. Double click the file's icon. The file opens in Finale NotePad. One of the toolbars contains buttons with the familiar "playback" and "stop" icons. Make sure your speakers are on...
I've written a program, VocabularyTrainer, that helps to memorize vocabulary. It's a very simple program, and it shows... VocabularyTrainer's code is freely available. I allow anyone to change the program and distribute it without restrictions. I will not be responsible for any damage that may be inflicted on you as a consequence of using this software!
Firstly install on your computer the Java Runtime Environment version 5 or higher. Download the archived program files and extract them. The archive contains the program file "VocabularyTrainer.jar" and a folder containing the vocabulary files (a file per word). To run the program double click its icon.
You can add words to the vocabulary by simply adding files to the vocabulary folder according to the sample files it contains. Make sure the files are plain-text, and encoded in UTF-8. Also maintain the required file format and filename extension as described next.
The possible file extensions:
As for the format of the vocabulary files. Just imitate the sample files provided (there's at least one representative for every extension). Pay attention to the following points: a) files with different extensions have different formats, b) different translations appear on different lines, but different plurals appear on the same line (it doesn't matter how the plurals are separated: by a comma, a full-stop, a space, etc.).
