There are so many hotels in Venice in all it's narrow, winding streets, that it takes a little bit of thought and research to choose the right hotel in Venice. We recommend staying in San Marco or Castello so that you can see all the major sites early in the day, but if you're more interested in experiencing Venice the way locals do, you might want to stay in Santa Croce or Dorsoduro. Consider your hotel's proximity to the grand canal - hotels away from the canal are likely to be cheaper, but you'll want to have exact directions so that you're not wandering around the city with all your baggage and a tourist map. Wherever you stay, make sure you have exact directions from the airport to your hotel before you arrive. Here are our favorite hotels in Venice Hotel Danieli - Riva delgi Schiavoni,
