Roma

Rome, the Eternal City. We arrived here on the last leg of the tour and spent our time visiting the many sites this great city offers. Also included was a day trip to Pompeii which has been near totally excavated. Since Rome has hundreds of Duomos, we made our first stop at

COLESEUM.JPG (101657 bytes) The Colosseum

coleseum2.jpg (200608 bytes) It's pretty nice on the outside, but a little rough inside.

Romans.jpg (149062 bytes) Marc runs afoul of the Legionairres. He can hit those high notes now!

Forum.jpg (72141 bytes) Then on to the Forum for a guided tour.

Vat-group.jpg (140910 bytes) That's us with the mother of all Duomos in the background. The Vatican and St. Peters Cathedral.

Pope.jpg (176425 bytes) We got to see the Pope - well almost. He was giving a blessing on big-screen TV.

Moses.jpg (144745 bytes) Michaelangelo's statue of Moses. My all time favorite.

CANDLES.JPG (142170 bytes) A solemn moment as a candle is lit.

Alfredos.jpg (154331 bytes) A culinary highlight. Dinner at Alfredo's where they serve - guess what?

Pompeii1.jpg (114802 bytes) The restored Pompeii

pompeii-guys.jpg (141994 bytes) Visiting a Pompeii brothel where advertising was invented.

TENORS2.JPG (83064 bytes) A highlight dinner with Tenors.

TENORS1.JPG (62636 bytes) Some people have to get into the act. Who is that guy dressed like a chicken?

DINNER.JPG (133301 bytes) The Last Supper. Tomorrow we head for the airport and home.

Arrivederci Roma - Arrivederci Italia!
