| Orlando Bloom's Biography and Filmography |
| Orlando Bloom was born in Canterbury, Kent (England) on January 13, 1977. (That makes him 25 this year :-) He moved to London at age 16 and became a part of the National Youth Theatre. Shortly afterwards, he recieved a scholarship to the British American Drama Academy. He then moved onto Guildhall and put his screen career on hold for the opportunity to further his education. Bloom has been in many plays, including "Little Me", "Twelfth Night" (I love this play! What i would have given to see Orli in it!), "Trojan Women", "The Seagull", "Antigone," and "Mystery Plays." Literally two days after his graduation from Guildhall (or so I've heard, corect me if I am wrong,) He landed the part of Legolas in Lord of the Rings, the trilogy, directed by Peter Jackson. He had originally tried out for the part of Faramir, Boromir's brother, but aren't we glad he got Legolas? He was also in "Wilde," and a short lived television series, "Misommer Murders." Just this year, 2002, he can be seen in "Black Hawk Down," "Allie G In the House/ Chequared Past," Alli G was supposed to be released in late March. Also, on Dec. 18, 2002 "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" was released. (Return of the King in late 2003.) He is also filming two movies this year, so far, The Calcium Kid, wherein he plays a Birtish Milkman named Jimmy, and Ned Kelly with Heath Ledger. He's one of the lead characters. He's alos filming Pirates of the Caribbean with Johnny Depp, and will be in Troy opposite Brad Pitt. Bloom's hobbies are extreme, for the most part, and include surfing, sky diving, skiing, snowboarding, and the VERY extreme sport of photography. He can also swordfight, horseback ride, and is of course, an archer. He can speak elvish, as well. Maybe we will hear this in the next to LOTR movies? We can hope. Since filming of LOTR, his favorite colour has become green. He has a dog, named Maude. Orli has also broken his habbit of smoking!! So, he no longer smokes. He instead bites his nails... better than being surrounded by a cloud of smoke though... He has brown eyes and brown hair, and is 5'11". Orlando liked watching Superman when he was little.
