| Intro: A Rice Rocket is a modified or customized asian car (honda, toyota, ect.). There is a differecnce between a "Ricer" and "Import Tuner". A "Ricer" is a guy (uselly 16-26 years old) that takes a car, that is speficly designed to get good gas mileage and be a commuter or family car, for example Honda Civic, Acura Integra and Nissan Sentra and modifies it. They add things for performance like Cold air intake, Performance Exhaust(thats about it) and add carbon fiber hoods to lose wieght and a large aluminun wing on the back(the kind u might see on a le menes race car). they also put oversized wheels on it, neon lights, clear taillights and lower it. Then they take there ""modified car"" out onto the streets and think that what they have build is the fastet car on the streets and they try to challange cars like Z28 Camaros, Cobra Mustangs and T/A Firebirds, which are all "Sports Cars". these guys have no logic and no understanding of cars. they just try to be cool becasue everyone else is doing it. A "Import Tuner" is a guy (any age) that takes import cars and actully modifies them. this is a guy that knows cars, but perfers import cars. you will uselly spot these guys driving cars like, Nissan 300ZX, Mitsubishi 3000GT, Toyota Supra and other japanenese super cars. They take a car like that and rebuild the motor, add Turbo Chargers swap out difference trannys and lower the cars the correct way. these guys make up a small # of the Rice Rocket crowd but are respected by most of the other crowds. the only way to really tell if he is a ricer or not is to ask him what hes done to his car and look at what kinda car it is, if you are a car guy you should pick up on it real fast. for one they wont start out by dissing your car. |

| This is a great example of a Ricer. This is or was a 1988(ish) Honda Civic. Look at that wing on the back.. damn.. that must put all kinds of down force on the wheels that dont push the car... o ya forgot to metion that this is a front wheel drive car? and this car will never reach speeds where that wing will become functional. i like how he took off the hub caps to expose thoughs awsome black steel wheels.. killer yo? whats the deal with the stickers on the side? o ya thats right i read about that on another site, they add horsepower.. duh! |

| V8 vs I4 400hp vs 200hp Ricers must have failed basic math a few times. "there is no substute for cubic inchs" .. amen. just amagian that primer integra with a 450hp small block 350 V8. you strip out the interior make the suspention stiffer, and that stupid body kit might be functional , make thoughs vents functional and put on some nice poished wheels with a blue and silver paint job and that would actully be a really nice car. not only would it look good but it would be very fast and handle very good.. not what i would build but aleast it would be respecable. im sure there are good V6 out there (grand national 6, ect.) but the cheepest way for speed is a 350 Chevy. and thats coming from a Mopar guy. |
