Christianity in Kerala
dates back to the time
of the Apostles.

Legend has it that
St. Thomas, one
of the Twelve,
landed here and
converted a section
of the people, died
and was buried here.

There is a sect of
Christians in Kerala
who claim to be the
descendants of the
converts of the
disciple of Christ.

Amaravila lies on the south bank of the river Neyyar, literally "river of melted butter". It is a village 3km from the Neyyattinkara town, in the  district of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital and southernmost district of Kerala State, India.

To get here, you will have to alight at Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) airport or Railway station and drive south for about 25 km.
