Grading System A student must be officially enrolled in the subjects he/she is attending in order to earn credits. Otherwise, no credit may be given to the student. Further, students of such cases, upon knowledge of the Faculty concerned and the Registrar shall be dealt with by proper investigation and administrative sanction. Moreover, a student is not allowed to enroll subjects with prerequisite/s if he/she has incurred a 5.0 in the prerequisite subjects. While graduating students are allowed to have overload subjects not more than six (6) units. Absences A student who incurred six (6) consecutive absences, equivalent to 18 hours, whether in a laboratory or academic subjects is considered automatically withdrawn. Tardiness in the class on three occasions is equivalent to one (1) absence. For Physical Education (P.E) subjects, a student who incurred three (3) consecutive absences, equivalent to six (6) hours is withdrawn from the class. Unless medical certificate or a valid reason is presented to the Professor, the student is given a second chance to attend and pass the P.E subjects. Withdrawal of Subjects A student who wishes to withdraw officially a subject may do so week before the midterm examination. Otherwise, withdrawing of subjects beyond the stipulated period will not be entertained. In a case where students does not willfully attend his registered subjects in the current semester, these subjects will be given 5.0. Incomplete Grades (INC.) Incomplete subjects should be completed within one (1) school year starting the date of recording the INC. grade by the Registrar. Otherwise, INC. will automatically be rated 5.0. Students with INC. are allowed to enroll on the succeeding semester prior to the filling- out of a completion form duly issued by the Registrar. Failed Grade (5.0) A student who fails (NGA included) in three academic subjects (9 units equivalent) shall be subjected to academic probation. A student who is in academic probation shall be allowed to enroll in more than fifteen (15) units. If a student on academic probation fails in any of his subjects he/she shall be disqualified to study further from the University. However, if the students have passed all his subjects he/she will be removed from the academic probation and allowed to enroll full- load. Back: Grading System Next: LESIT |
