Documentation of the Development Process

My development process started with

• Reviewing the PluralSight videos we used during the different modules
• Picked out the different elements that I wanted to use
• Created a map of the site, from index to final page, and ensured that I created links between all the pages

Once I completed this mapping process, I started to code. Unfortunately, I had a hardware failure and didn't realized that my OneDrive folder was not synchronizing with the web until it was too late.

Therefore, I recreated the site without my original notes and sample code. I would say that my final project was about 75% close to what my previous mapping exercise had.

I used sources like:

• PluralSight
• w3Schools.com website
• I also would look for inspiration sites and used the F12 (Developer tools) within my browser to exam the code and figure out how to duplicate it

Defense of Final Product

It was not easy loosing so much of the work that I had done earlier. However, at the end, I am pretty happy with the final product.

It is clean, easy to read and navigate. Colors are complimentary to the subject matter (Olives!). This simplicity, I feel allowed me give the images center stage and show the beauty of the product and location.

Once I finished I shared it with my family and my sister and brother in law that own the property and they were too happy witht the final result. However, being the perfectionist that I am. I am already looking at the next iteration of the site...

Opportunities for Improvement and Growth

As I said, I am already looking at the next iteration of the site; and here are some of the ideas that I want to play with:

• Navigation bar - I want to add a hamburger and dropdown menus
• Background image - I want update the header to include an image of the olives
• Update the Buttons. I want to add annimation
• In the Pricing page, I want to add Image Cards with navigation
• Add video of the oil making process
• Update the OrderForm and Registration pages to be slicker and centered with an image on the background
• Upgrade the code that is preventing the pages to resize in smaller screens (tablets, smartphones) so that it can be more mobile friendly

In conclusion; I am so glad I took this class! and wish I had 10 more lined up. However, this class has given me the inspiration to keep going and perhaps not to long in the future start a new career!
