Calvaneso's Cosmopolitan Grille
Tucked away in tiny plaza off a bustling Transit Road is Calvaneso's Cosmopolitan Grille. Cozy and sophisticated it almost feels like you are in an elegant neighborhood joint, say in Los Angles or New York. The restaurant is the namesake of owner Steve Calvaneso, who heads up a fine list of Buffalo restaurants. The commitment to fine wine, WINE SPECTATOR AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2002 exceptional food and quality service is apparent. The kitchen is in the capable hands of Chef Greg Pecora. Fresh seafood, chops, risotto and prime steaks are staples on Chef Pecora's menu. Attention to detail is an understatement at Calvaneso's. Two rooms are meticulously set, a front room in the bar area and away from the action an elegant back room set around a fireplace and impressive art collection. Reservations well in advance for weekend nights are necessary, but middle of the week is a great time to just drop by. If you have to wait the bar offers up 20 wine by the glass and great martinis.
