Having read the book years ago, I recall thinking it would make a great movie. I was surprised to see how well Tom Clancy had portrayed Fundamental Islam as being the enemy of the Western world. When this novel was on the shelves Mr. Clancy was actually a pioneer almost a prophet in the way he directed our attention to the world's next threat. You see in the book, Islamic nomads find an un-detonated atomic bomb left over from a war with Israel and their less than congenial neighbors. The Nomads sell the bomb to their local Sheik, who in turn gives it to a 'Hamas' like group.

The Muslim Terrorists (Initial caps added for emphasis) re-build the bomb and smuggle it into the US, blowing it up during a football game similar to "Black Sunday". The book was well written and included a very possible scenario. A scenario similar to the one perpetrated on September 11th, mainly the massive murder of thousands of Americans on American soil and in one strike. Of course there are still a few plot twists and plenty of page turning suspense.

With the background set we now turn to the movie. The plot is similar to the one described above, except for one significant detail, mainly the lack of Muslim Terrorists.

Seems strange, does it not? Releasing a movie, in the middle of a war with Muslim Terrorists, where the central plot is a terrorist attack on US soil sans the Muslim Terrorists. Could you imagine having watched a war movie produced during WWII where John Wayne, staring as a US Marine, was fighting Canadians? (For those of you educated in California, the US and Canada were allies in WWII)

As stupid as that sounds this is on par with what we see in "The Sum Of All Fears" the movie. Instead of Muslim Terrorists, we are bombed by aging Nazi's.

Be careful my friends, because the real threat to your safety is aging Nazi's, and not Islam.
Perhaps we should take refuge in the local Mosque and thank Hollywood for the re-education.
