Am I Considered "Nontenure-track"
or NTT, at Illinois State University?

The best way to find out is to look at your official job classification.

You can find your official classification on your contract.  The phone directory also lists your official classification.

According to ISU's
official policy , both full-time and part-time non-tenure track faculty are classified as follows (as of 5/15/2000):

LECTURER
Faculty with a mimimum of a bachelor's degree whose primary resopnsibility is classroom instructional duties.

INSTRUCTIONAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Faculty with a minimum of a master's degree whose primary responsibility is classroom instructional duties.

CLINICIAN
Faculty with a minimum of a bachelor's degree whose primary responsibility is to augment the curriculum where knowledge of professional practice is essential.

CLINICAL ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
Faculty with a minimum of a master's degree whose primary responsibility is to augment the curriculum where knowledge of professional practice is essential.

ADJUNCT
Non-paid faculty members appointed to provide support services related to teaching, research, or public service.  This includes emeritus/a (retired tenured) professors who used to be known as "Faculty Fellows", some faculty whose salaries come from grants, and (theoretically, according to another policy) Academic Personnel who teach.

Most NTTs at ISU are classified as lecturers or instructional assistant professors.  It is interesting to note that "adjunct" in most higher education institutions refers to paid nontenure-track (full-time or part-time) faculty --  but not at ISU.
