# The names regarding Korea vary; Joseon Dynasty as Yi Dynasty or Chosun Dynasty, Joseon as Chosun or Chosen in other web sites.

1259 The Goryeo dynasty of Korea peninsla surrendered to Mongol, and eventually became a vassal of the Yuan Dynasty, Mongol.

1356 Goryeo expelled Mongolian armies from Korean Peninsula and gained its independence for a period of time.

1388 Goryeo had been still ordered to invade Liaodong peninsula in China by the Mongol's Yuan Dynasty. General Yi Seonggye had to pick a side which to choose (Yuan or Ming), and made a momentous decision, with the deterrent of China's Ming Empire. He returned to the capital Kaesong; between Pyongyang and Seoul.

1392 Yi Seonggye marched his army into the capital granted Ming Empire's request and removed the Goryeo government. The Joseon Dynasty (Yi Dynasty), was founded in the aftermath of the overthrow of the Goryeo Dynasty.
The later phase Yangban class to be formed in this Dynasty.

1401 Yongle Emperor, the Ming Dynasty (China) allowed Joseon Dynasty to hold Ce-feng (a tribute relationship) , the king of Joseon (Korea) was addmitted as a King of Joseon (Korea) by Ming, and this meant to render vassal homage to the Ming Dynasty.

1419 Oei Invasion : An invasion of the Tsushima Island led by the Joseon Dynasty.

1428 Joseon sent missionaries to Japan in Muromachi period.

1439 Joseon sent 2nd missionaries to Japan.

1443 Joseon sent 3rd missionaries to Japan.

1592 Hideyoshi's Korean Expeditions*1 (unsuccessed invasion). The oppressed local people were grudged, they were with Japanese*2.

1609 Joseon sent diplomatic missionaries to Japan in Edo period.

1619 Battle of Sarhu. Joseon (Korea) sent reinforcements to the Ming Dynasty for the battles between the Manchus.

1627 First Manchu invasion of Korea.
