St. Andrew's Church, Sunnyside Trinity Bay, Newfoundland

St. Andrew's Church has enjoyed a long history of service to the people of Sunnyside. The current church building is the third Anglican church erected in the community.

The cornerstone was laid in 1966, and it was opened in March, 1967. The building is well cared for by an enthusiastic congregation and vestry. The basement parish hall was completed in 1997 by members of the congregation and can seat about 60 people. The congregation consists of just over 60 families and is doing well as part of the Parish of the Holy Spirit.

Services are held every Sunday under the pastoral charge of The Rev.d Lloyd Collett and a team of three dedicated Licensed Lay Ministers. Mrs Rowena Hapgood serves as organist.

Highlights of the past year include increased givings, a very active Bible Study group and special services that were well attended. There were three funerals and five baptisms at St. Andrew's in the calendar year 2006. The congregation enjoys good cooperation with both the United Church and the Pentecostal Church.

Sunnyside is a pretty place and worth a first hand visit. St. Andrew's Church is open and would welcome your visit at any time.
