It was an ordinary afternoon on the thirteenth floor of the LLAnon Hotel. Yvaul was playing Stratigo with Dia in the Lounge, with various persons from his story watching in the background. Figment and Ko had talked Dreamdance and Seisatsu into playing Twister with them, and Krystal was refereeing. Timothy and Zeraphim had discovered that the demon language and bat language weren't all that dissimilar, so were exchanging news. Vaied and Onyx sat in a corner discussing weaponry, Ruby was sitting in Sapphire's lap as the singer discussed the newest scores with Opal, and Topaz was being dull. Kveld was in wolf-puppy form, as usual, chewing on a rawhide bone. And Kitty, Miko, whichever you want to call her, was running down the hallway with a towel on her head and absolutely nothing else.
It took a moment to sink in, but conversation suffered an abrupt death as twenty-something heads all snapped up to stare at the streaking catgirl as she left little wet footprint- shaped puddles down the hallway floor. There was utter silence.
"WHY did they put the shower at the end of the hallway anyway?" Seisatsu demanded irratably. It took a moment before he got a response.
"Communal living?" Figment suggested.
Dreamdance blinked. "Is there something wrong?"
"Modern societies in this world tend to have a nudity taboo, Dreamdance." Yvaul replied calmly, moving one of his game pieces.
"Oh..." the Tayledras said, blinking again. He shifted a little to make his Twister pose a little less awkward, then blinked for a third time. "Komaine, you're drooling."
The fox-coyote didn't seem to hear him, so Dreamdance tried again. "Ah, Komaine, not on the Twister sheet please..."
"Eheeheeee... AAAAAHHHH!!!!"
The Twister game ended as the other three participants all startled at the fox-coyote's yell, landing in a large tangle of bodies. From his seat at the board game with Yvaul, Dia asked hesitantly, "Is there something wrong?"
"I didn't have my CAMERA..." Komaine whimpered.
Everyone sweatdropped. Conversation resumed. Seisatsu took the position of spinner and Krystal took his place on the mat. Life went on.
It was your average, typical day on the thirteenth floor of the LLAnon Hotel. Of course, what is normal for some people is anything but for the rest of the world.
