Lucky stared down at his hands, clenched into tight fists. He didn't understand why he was so angry. They were just dreams he told himself. Dreams, harmless little tangents. But, he reminded himself, the last time she had dreams, she was having your dreams. Maybe that was why it had hurt when she'd told him about them.
He forced himself to unclench his fists. Slowly, one finger at a time, until his hands rested on his knees. It wasn't his business either. He didn't own her. Standing, he began to pace restlessly, vaguely wishing he'd never gotten his emotions back. Then, at least, he wouldn't be so damned confused. Lucky paused in his pacing long enough to slam his fist into the wall with a sharp exhalation of breath and a small cry of frustration. He withdrew his hand and inspected his knuckles, which began to sting from the impact. Cursing to himself, he headed to the kitchen for some ice. This was just not his day, he thought to himself.

Ginger and Ginny grasped each other's hands tightly as they lay together in their bed. The room was furnished with two beds, but they had always preferred to sleep together. Their red hair spilled over the pillows and their faces were soft and relaxed. They looked like angels, Kou thought to himself as he peered in on them. Shaking his head he closed their door softly, muttering ancient words of blessing as he crossed to his own room. Closing the door behind him, he sat down in an armchair and closed his eyes, inhaling deeply as a wave of dizzyness coursed over his body. Once it had passed, he shook his head, raising one hand to look at it, trembling violently. He could feel the tremors through his whole body, until it was all he could do to stop them. Standing, he grabbed his knives and nearly sprinted outside into the cold air. Once out there, he could breathe much easier.
Kou began throwing his daggers at a tree stump, his aim erratic. His heartbeat was violent and fast, and he realized all at once that he wasn't going to last much longer. The strain would surely kill him. He felt as if there were a rope around his middle, and he was being tugged in two directions. One was towards Aku, who he couldn't stand and loved more than anyone, and the other was towards his home. Kou suddenly felt dizzy again, and his vision wavered to a small point before he collapsed on the snowy ground.
