~Interlude in Chaos~

Kitty, CLAMP no Miko, Grey no Miko, whoever she was, pressed a strip of her kimono hem to her leg in an attempt to stop the bleeding. How had they talked her into this again? Oh yes, that's right. Yvaul had approached her, and she was so used to him always being right that the possibility of him being up against something he wasn't prepared for had never occured to her. Then, when he'd explained just WHY he wanted to go hunting for sadistic psychopaths...

There weren't all that many things that Kitty, Miko, whoever she was, was afraid of. Most of them centered around pain. But the last one was highly irrational and confused a lot of people, but Yvaul knew, and knew she'd never be able to tell them no. Kitty was afraid of sex.

So when they told her about Ruu, about what HE had done to her, she'd quietly nodded and told them they had her help. It wasn't just for Komaine, though that factored into it, it was also for herself. For her friends. So that the situation with Ruu would never be able to be repeated.

The plan had been simple, really. They knew HE liked to prey on innocent young women, play with them, and break them. Yvaul had reasoned that Miko would be the perfect person to play bait. All they had needed was a set-up scene. Something that would send the miko out of the hotel in the freeze of winter to a place where she was unprotected.

Zeraphim. The demon had never really given up trying to maim her, since FY no Miko had forbidden him from killing anyone. To ensure his cooperation with their mad scheme, they explained to him that they were going after a madman and that FY no Miko's restriction on him didn't extend to madmen. The demon agreed.

So CLAMP no Miko, Kittykat, Grey no Miko, whoever she was, had been chased out the front door of the hotel and into the snow by a sadistic demon from hell. Once outside, they staged a grand battle with flashy pyrotechnics, designed to draw attention from the Andromeda Galaxy and back. It worked.

The man had arrived in a chariot pulled by Nightmares, surrounded by his own personal regiment of six demons from hell. None of them had expected that, and the oversight cost them. Dearly. Yvaul and Ko's attempt to come to her rescue had been hindered by two of the demons and the madman's two nightmares, while the remaining four demons kept Zeraphim occupied. That had left the madman himself free... free to drive his sword through her leg.

The pain had almost made her black out. It certainly took a moment before she could see clearly again, or as clear as one's vision could be with tears blocking it. She supposed she could have been dead right there but for Figment's timely arrival and the madman deciding to go 'play' with Komaine for a bit.

Figment was standing watch over her now, keeping back the two nightmares the madman had sicced on them with a large whip. It would almost have been comical to watch if they weren't all fighting for their lives- well, not Figment. He didn't have a life to loose. That probably explained why he was acting like a lion tamer while dressed as a rodeo rider and yelling cheap pirate phrases at the top of his lungs.

She couldn't really watch, as she was trying desperately to keep from bleeding to death. Somewhere in the back of her mind she sensed that both Yvaul and Komaine had been injured, but beyond that she couldn't say for certain. She wished she could help, somehow, but she wasn't made for fighting, and the blood just. wouldn't. stop. flowing.

"I don't want to die..." she whispered.
