1. cork bark can be used to conceal wquipment such as a UG filter uplift. It can be prevented from floating by wedging the bottom end in the substrate and the top under tthe tank's bracing bars.
2. rocks can be used to prevent sideways slippage. as always they should be firmly bedded on the bottom, and large enough for the intended purpose.
3. a second piece of cork bark acts as an imitation log on the river bed. This time it must be weighted with slate attached to its underside, or with stones concealed inside.

4. provided the water is added carefully, plastic plants can be added at the dry stage of setting up. As with living plants group of a single spiecies often create a more natural effect.
5. the finished decor. Note there are spaces within the rock and the cork bark, such as the "hollow log" for the fishes to use as hiding places. Algae will eventually grown on the rocks, wood and the plastic plants. While this may look realistic on the wood and rocks it should be removed from the plants by taking them out and scrubbing them.
