"Yesh"
by Amir Ragporker
19.9.2002,
I said only one word after Dego's goal: "Yesh". Maccabi Tel Aviv won 1-0 like
they are one of the most experienced teams in Europe. Maccabi is in their way to
the second stage.

Heyes and Silva, two Brazilians, one ball
Yes it wasn’t a great game by Maccabi Tel Aviv however their
defensive game played heroically and cleaned every ball that went in the box or
out of it. Bruno Heyes played very good. Maccabi's offence needed only one good
offensive move to score amazing goal. Maccabi Tel Aviv played in with 2 changes
from the last game against Maccabi Petach Tikva when the Chilean Goldberg
replaced Reoven Oved and Mauricio Aros opened instead of Abu-Siam.
At the Portuguese side we didn’t saw a good match. Sanchez the Bolivian didn’t
play so there where no inspired player in Boavista's squad.
The Portuguese started well with a chance that Shtarober took well.
In the 14th minute Maccabi Tel Aviv got into the game when Goldberg's
free kick went strait to Ricardo's hands. Then Heyes the Brazilian shot in
another free kick went to Boavista's keeper.
In the 23rd minute Pedro headed the ball well from 5 meters but
Shtrauber took it well. Few seconds later the same man missed from 5 meters
after a good driving pass.
In the 34th minute Baroch Dego scored! He got a fine ball by Heyes,
ran quite skillfully and from 12 meters scored a wonderful goal, 1-0 Maccabi.
In the 50th minute the Boavista was close to score after Jose Pedro
didn’t make it to a good pass from the right. The team from Porto started the
second half very good and strong.
Banin went on goal from 25 meter but the ball didn’t land in the net and
Prohanenkovas's free kick went to Ricardo's hand.
Straober drive away a good strike by Pedro near the end of the game.
Maccabi Tel Aviv go setesfaid home while Boavista know they can win 2-0 or more
at home.
