On Moshioch and Israel...

The man came home visibly upset. Every Shabbos he has gone to the synagogue to pray and to hear the Rabbi speak. A working man, the Rabbi's words were his only exposure to Torah learning. And though normally the Rabbi was inspiring, this week the Rabbi had said things that really caused the man consternation.

"Jacob! Jacob! What's the matter with you?" his wife asked.

"It's terrible! You won't believe it" he replied with a shaky voice. "The Rabbi... The Rabbi...".

"The Rabbi what?" his wife asked.

"You wont believe what the Rabbi said".

"What? What did the Rabbi say? What's upsetting you like this?"

The Rabbi spoke about the Moshioch (Messiah). He said, this Moshioch will come, and we'll all have to pack up our bags, sell our homes, and move to Israel...".

"Oy!" the woman gasped. "Sell the house? Never!".

"What will we do?" asked the man, with a sense of despair.

His wife, always the calming factor in the family, answered with measured control:

Don't worry, Jacob. G-d saved us from trouble in the past... He'll save us from the Moshioch too!
