When Warden John Bennett was in his first year of office, 1958, "The Presidio" was considered by many, if not all, of its competitors as the nation's foremost walled-in monthy publication. It had reached an all time high of some 250 publications and was circulating in excess of 3500 paid domestic and foreign subscribers.
